How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

the only small negative was a rushing water sound in the room I stayed, maybe there was a pipe just next to it. nothing major, but as I’m a light sleeper would wake up every now and then.
everything was good: location, staff and the hotel itself! would come back again for sure! a bakery next to it, plenty of amazing restaurants around and the staff was super nice!

Wifi connection was poor. Some rooms need a little bit of refresh.
Location was excellent, confortable room and bed. Excellent staff and clean rooms. The lobby was nicely decorated.

Room was a bit small but acceptable given you really just sleep there, but the shower cubical was a real challenge size wise but we managed.
Helpful staff, modern and good breakfast/lounge area. An authentic part of the city and only about 10 mins walk to some of the key tourist areas in the northern parts of Paris. Metro stop only a few minutes away. We booked an extra night.

The room was on the smaller side, but the cleanliness and location make up for it.
The hotel and the room were very clean and well-stocked. They even provided little essentials like a toothbrush and sewing kit, which was a nice surprise. Location is great, walking distance to some famous Paris sites.

The Wifi was very bad. The connection constantly disappeared. So weak that I could not make a Facetime call on it.

The information on booking.com is wrong - on your website is written that parking is free on the street and that stuff will let us know where to park the car when we arrive. That is not true, parking is 25 EUR / day in the hotel garage, otherwise there is no free parking anywhere in Paris. So we had to pay additional 50 euro for parking for 2 days.

- the receptionist asked me to pay the city-tax at the moment of the checkin and I agreed. Then I discovered that she blocked 100 Euro guarantee without telling me about this. It’s not professional to act like this. -All of our rooms (4 to be more exact) were right next to the elevator and the noise in the morning was annoying .

The floor in the bathroom was really cold, so it didn't dry at all after showering.
The location, the room itself and staff were perfect. Metro Station and wonderful boulangerie just next to the hotel! I would recommend to anyone.

Our room was fine but on the small side. The area is hilly and not wheelchair friendly. Lots happening outdoors so evenings and at night it can be lively (a little noisy). The different metro maps aren't always reliable (like Gare du Nord / La Chapelle).
The hotel is very good and convenient; metro station Lamark is 3 minute walk away. Plenty of cafe's and restaurants within walking distance. The locals are helpful and can speak some English. Good breakfast and very friendly staff.

Rooms could be a little larger but very reasonable for the cost.
The hotel was very tidy and very clean and the rooms were very comfortable. The service was incredible, the staff was very friendly and very understanding. I would stay there again with no hesitation!

Loved the location and breakfast! Good amount of food on the buffet to start the day and the decoration of the area was perfect and stylish. Small rooms, but super comfy bed and you can’t ask for more for such a cheap price. Also located in a very good area, still close to a lot of things, but also not in a busy area. Very content about the hotel, especially for this price. Loved our stay
