Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe double room was a little bit small for to people. The bathroom didn´t have enough space. To take a shower there was a little bit complicated.
The staff was very kind and nice. The swimming pool very refreshing after a long motorbike journey. There was many mosquitoes in the pool, but probably this is motivated to the abundant presence of them in the summer season in the area. Also the dinning service was very good. Quiet place and nice environment.

United KingdomThe hotel is a little dated in appearance and decor, and lacking attention to detail in some places in the triple room e.g. a curtain separating the main bedroom with double bed from the smaller sleeping area with single bed has been removed but the curtain rail and tie back remain, the velux roof light in the smaller sleeping area doesn’t have a blind but a piece of material which falls off when opening the window/roof light (essential in hot weather) etc.
The hotel is in the centre of St Jean le Thomas, almost opposite the Boulangerie, shop and cafe bar, and only a short, 5 minute, walk from the beach. Despite its central location in the village it was very quiet and peaceful, it felt like a haven of calm after a long journey from the U.K. I found the hotel very clean and comfortable, if dated, and I stayed for 1 night in the triple room with my mother and my dog, which was perfect for us and very good value. The room, bed linen and towels were spotlessly clean and the linen was very good quality. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We had a kettle, tea, coffee and uht milk in the room which was a very welcome surprise for a hotel in France (the small shop just across the road sells fresh milk). The room itself and the shower room were a good size, with plenty of space for my large dog (Labrador) to move about and settle himself comfortably. The staff were friendly and helpful, tolerating my very poor French and using their slightly better English to ensure we understood everything we needed to. Particular thanks to the young gentleman who served us drinks and dinner who spoke excellent English and really went the extra mile to make sure everything was okay with our meal and our stay. Dinner was well cooked and tasty. breakfast was fresh and good quality continental served from 8:30am on the weekend. There is plenty of parking in a gated area of the hotel grounds, which was reassuring with a fully loaded car. The hotel also has a pool and terrace which I unfortunately didn’t have time to use but it looked clean and inviting. There was a slight mix-up with the bill on check out. Payments made through Booking.com don’t show in an obvious place on the hotel’s system, but this was quickly resolved when I pointed out I had already paid through Booking.com. The owner who checked me out was very polite and helpful, graciously resolving the billing error immediately.

United KingdomThe hotel was very dated. Bedroom was small; two of the lights had dead bulbs in (in the morning we told the owner who said he would have them replaced). Breakfast coffee was in a thermos far too small for the number of guests and was refilled with a considerable delay each time it was requested.
Breakfast was very good, with a wide choice, including croissants. The owner was very polite and pleasant, as was the girl waiting at dinner. The dinner was good - tasty and good portions.
