Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe continental breakfast was a little sparse, and greater choice of fruit would have been better.
The room had a great view, was spacious abd the bed very comfortable. The location was excellent in relation to the Bastide and La Cite.

United KingdomNothing it was all very very pleasant but we may have been disappointed with a courtyard view room . We were so lucky to be upgraded
The location was superb and because of our upgrade to a room either old city view the outlook could not have been better a little balcony too We really loved it. The rooftop area was great for just sitting quietly and enjoying the view

United KingdomSlightly quirky interior design. Separate toilet from the en-suite with no hand washing facility.
Ideally placed between the city and the castle. Good underground parking. Helpful receptionist & staff. Great views from the bar/restaurant.

United KingdomI disliked the lack of information in the room. Instructions on using the coffee machine (I don’t have one at home). Also no reminders about pool times/bar opening times/ checkout times etc. You did not always have a person at the desk to ask- I like a hotel room to give me info. We ate once in the restaurant but it was disappointing in quality-although it was well presented. Only 1 option for a vegetarian- it felt like I was eating at a local cafe ( did not match your website photos). We didn’t know it was a bank holiday when we booked the trip and were surprised your bar and restaurant were closed for 2 days. We had lovely evening meals at other restaurants instead.
Fabulous view - had booked a twin room with balcony and cite view. Location was brilliant for visiting surrounding area. I liked having kettle and coffee machine in room. The pool was a bonus and was very pleased that towels were provided there. Once again a fabulous view! The breakfast was excellent- so much choice and well set out. I’d certainly revisit.

United KingdomThere were no shelves, cupboards or drawers to put anything away. Apart from a few hangers we had to live out of the suitcase for 5 days. The room was very dark (black) and quite sombre. My friend's bedside light didn't work which we reported on the first day. Nothing was done about it the whole stay. There was a horrible smell on the stairs.
The location was excellent - very near the bridge to the Citadel and close to the main City too. Easy to walk to from the Shuttle bus. The bed was very comfortable. The room was extremely quiet. It was good to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Having a pool was a bonus. Fantastic views of the Citadel. Breakfast was delicious with huge variety and choice.

RomaniaThe bed was sooo high, basically you had to climb on the bed (is not necessarily a bad thing, there might be people who like that, it wasn't our case), the main light in the room wasn't working. One thing that could be changed: the light in the separate room, where the toilet was - it was warm light; the room is very small and probably a cold light would be better. And the breakfast, but it is the same situation in all hotels in France, so far: no vegetables 😭. Good pastries, good coffee but no vegetables.
The position of the hotel, with an amazing view over the citadel. The staff was amazing, they helped us anytime we asked them, even booking a taxi for us in the evening for the next day. The size of the room was acceptable, very clean, especially the bathroom. We had dinner one day and the food was amazing ☺️ and the wine also.

FranceThe wine sommelier made a big fuss when I sent back the wine - it was corked - she disagreed. Instead of just leaving it at that she made a pont of telling me it was my taste “mon gout” not corked wine. Very embarrassing
Mix up with date of booking but staff accommodated us.

United KingdomThe room was dusty, a little more attention to detail with the cleaning would have been appreciated, dusty vents, dusty lights and corners and sealings, not dirty by any stretch but definitely nobody looking up when cleaning!
Fantastic location, perfectly placed between the old centre and new centre, great views of the for and castle and the river. Super friendly staff, every staff member was great. Hotel was quiet but we are in the winter months and that’s not a bad thing for a couples chilled weekend away. We had a nightmare getting back to the airport and the hotel helped us to get sorted hours after checkout by ringing every taxi in carcassonne! Not sure it’s quite 4 star but a really good 3 star in my opinion and certainly would stay again. Shower was amazing too 👌

United KingdomRoom tea/coffee facilities weren't too great - tea / coffee / milk supplies plus renewal of these were lacking for a hotel of this standard (but we didn't ask about this so this may well have been sorted if we had based on the other things we did ask for and were sorted). My son's view: soaps and hand gels etc. were "old lady" lavender (which is fine if you are a lady over 50 but not if you have a 16 year old son who says "this smells of old lady"). Dark interior decor reminded me of a laser quest but I don't book hotels based on interior design! Rooftop is subject to the elements - if it rains the seats get wet.
Location was tremendous - 10 minutes walk to La Cite right next to Pont Vieux, room view looked over the river and the old city, non-traditional relaxed hotel vibe. Nice continental selection for breakfast but still don't get the cheeses and meats for breakfast. Pool was small - good for a wake-up morning dip but not an exercise pool (a length took three strokes) but pool shower is lovely. Reception staff were great - just be brave enough to ask and they will deliver (super multi lingual). Secure bag hold on last day after check out so we could explore without carting bags around with us. The restaurant was amazing - 8 Tapas around the world sharing starter was the best thing we had to eat all holiday. Rooftop view is great.
