We were far from the main building. EV chargers could be positioned at other locations as well. Breakfast was really terrible. No boiled eggs, burnt scrambled eggs and bacon. Also cost at bar was overpriced, coming from Switzerland and we found it unnecessary high for basic beers and very basic whiskeys.

    Being secluded. Quiet and peaceful.

Relatively small room. Minor. Lack of some standard things I'm used to in a 4* hotel: No ironing board. No in room thermostat (or at least I didn't see it). No USB charging.

Beautiful site. Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Nice shower and towel warmer.

A beautiful peaceful place, our second visit overnighting whilst crossing France. We stayed in the main building. Spacious room and huge bathroom with a good deep bath and plentiful hot water. Love the outdoor swimming pool here too, huge, sparkling clean and heated. We had the set menu dinner, absolute excellent food, beautifully presented and a really good wine list. Would highly recommend this place

Falsely advertised EV charging (which is why we booked it)

We booked this hotel because it’s advertised on the Tesla destination charger map. But the didn’t have one, they replaced the Tesla chargers with public to pay ones — which didn’t work. They didn’t show up in three charging apps which all listed the company they are from, even tried to install the app of them but that didn’t exist anymore. Advertising charging and then not having any is quite bad, in 4 years of driving this was the first hotel on the Tesla map that then didn’t have one (on booking the electric charging claim was always a bit unreliable). If one goes for a pay with card charger one should at least have a working card at the reception (they can put the energy on the bill if they don’t want to provide free charging). Also if they advertise free charging, and not providing it this is false advertising— like offering breakfast included and they charging for it. Rooms could be cleaner and the Breakfast was so lala.

We were in the main house and had one of the more expensive rooms, room was ok. Dinner was good. Pool is nice and the surroundings are too

    Not much.

We stayed one night in the Domaine Vaugouard as part of our drive to the Dordogne. the room was spacious, clean and refurbished. We were travelling with our 3 years old and the hotel has prepared a cot and a big king size bed for us. The breakfast was good. The golf course is very well maintained.

First room allocated was not in the main buildin and was infested with flies. The bed was on a mezanine and only accessable by very steep and not safe for elderly people.

Dinner was very good and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Afetr complaining about the allocated room we were give a newly refurbished room whixh was much bettter, however the stanfard of workmanship was poor, the showe leake and flooded the bathroom soaking the bedroom carpet. TV was wall mounted but was in the way of the dresser

    Bathroom cleanliness (see above)

Breakfast was a disappointment as many items had run out by 9:30. It took 20 minutes to replace the coffee flask. The hotel was suffering IT problems and so WIFI was not good.

Probably the best front desk / checkin staff I have ever encountered in over 40 years of international travel. Really good evening restaurant with excellent service.

No air conditioning on a very hot day made for virtually unusable rooms. Rooms in old main building have a lot of old world charm but are actually quite tired and in need of maintenance and renovation, especially at this price level.

Beautiful countryside location. Great swimming pool.

If you don’t get into the Chateau rooms, you are in an annex with very average rooms. The duplex studio has a bedroom loft, but the bathroom is downstairs. The price for these rooms is too high.

The chateau itself is stunning, as are the rooms therein. (The duplex studio room was very average, more below). However, the golf course makes up for most of the shortfall, it is very nice and in fantastic condition. The entire reception staff was outstanding, very helpful and friendly for the whole stay.

The rooms in de dependance (where we stayed) are in desperate need of a spruce-up. Paint was coming off the wall and the curtains were hanging of the rails. Hence the first impression wasn’t great, but once we settled in we enjoyed the room immensely. Fantastic king-size bed and very quiet. We later learned that the whole place is going to be renovated by the new owners this winter, which was good to hear. We paid over €100,- a night room only, which I feel was a bit much for what it is right now. €80,- - €85,- would have been a more appropriate price.

We are keen golfers and loved the location right on the golf course. The 18-hole golf course was superb and challenging. The food in the main building was fantastic. Louis at reception deserves a big compliment; he is just amazing in his role as host and face of the Domaine.

Food and beverage in general was not 4 star. The service on our first night was so slow it put us off going again The limited choice of menu was not what it said on the website. Breakfast and its supervision was not focused on striving for high levels of quality nor attention to the customer. Why hotels cannot cook scrambled eggs is a mystery to me.

Beautiful setting. Swimming pool was very inviting. Bedroom and a/c was very welcome during the very hot period.

In terms of comfort, the accommodation facilities in the hotel annex are not in the expected conditions for a 4*. The wifi would not reach the rooms. The first room we were given, the window wouldn't close, so we were moved to another room, but the minibar didn't work there. The carpets look old and so does the bath/ curtains. The room is hot, there was no simple sheets in the bed to cover from mosquitos (only the warm blanket), so we can't open windows because of the mosquitos, and the only refresh comes from a single fan in the piece.

The personnel is very friendly and helpful. We were well received by the lady in the reception and the staff in the restaurant, who also accommodated my dietary restrictions due to pregnancy. The swimming pool is also great, nice temperature of the water.

This isthe last hotel we stayed at on our road trip of France and it was fantastic. Louis at Reception was so helpful in showing us the facilities and arranging pool towels/dinner etc. Great ambience, lovely swimming pool, superb dinner and breakfast on the open verandah, and refurbished rooms. Golf course looked fantastic but no time to have a game.
