We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

For our needs - a one night stop on the way to Italy - this hotel is perfect. It’s clean, functional, the Loft restaurant offers good variety with a kids menu, the breakfast is excellent and the staff are very pleasant. For the price it is terrific value for money.

United KingdomThe Booking.com arrangements. I thought I was paying in Sterling then found that you had taken Euros, involving a fee on my card. I have a card in Euros and would have used that card had I known. I am unhappy about Booking.com and will use other websites in future - unless you are prepared to refund me the fee and the poor rate that I was granted. Maybe TripAdvisor in future?

FranceThe nearest restaurant is on site but it was badly understaffed (Covid-19 consequences). We waited 15 minutes to be shown a table and another fifteen for our order to be taken. The drinks order (apéritifs, wine, water and coffee) arrived unfailingly late - the classic lack of communication between kitchen and bar. If the hotel is going to recommend the restaurant (as it does) some work is needed.
The room was of an adequate size for one night and the breakfast was potentially plentiful if you were hungry - a generous buffet laid. Tea and coffee in the room but no milk!

United KingdomWe couldn’t fault it, we booked last minute and it was great value for money. The room was very clean and the bathroom was modern and spacious, so we were very comfortable. There was plenty of choice at breakfast - teas, coffees, fresh fruit, ham and cheese, egg, breads, croissant, pastries, yoghurt as well as fresh juice and bottled water. The staff were helpful and friendly. We would absolutely stay here again.

Everything except the location was very good, rooms comfortable, breakfast good, staff friendly and helpful. Location was not good for us, too far from town centre. Most importantly, access by car VERY DIFFICULT to find, just a small roadside sign half hidden by greenery.
