Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe hotel is a bit dated, but for the price we were more than happy. It is also a bit of a walk with ski equipment to the bus stop (around 15 mins)
Nice friendly staff and cosy atmosphere.

GermanyThe owner, however, was extremely rude on the phone for being late to checking, although we wrote a message early enough to warn.
The lady at check in was extremely nice and welcoming, although we were very late to check in due to heavy traffic and ~6hr drive from Germany.

AustraliaWe were on foot so it was a bit of a walk up the hill from town, ok in daylight but no street lights after dark.
Hotel Edelweiss is in a beautiful location. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. An added bonus was the beautiful dog who greeted us each morning.

United KingdomNo hair dryer or shampoo or conditioner were provided, just one tiny lump of soap which was supposed to be use for hands, body AND washing your hair! Check out was at 10am, a bit early for our tastes! Be aware, you MUST check in before 7pm! Not a problem for us, but I did wonder what people who couldn't be there by 7pm would do!
Gorgeous view, comfortable bed, private balcony overlooking the mountain, very clean bathroom.

FranceIt is out of the centre, a short walk, but you need to have a car if you want to go skiing as not on the bus route.
Amazing views, good value with breakfast and has a classic simple mountain meal in the evening there if you don’t want to go out. Plus dog friendly.

United KingdomThe location out of town was not ideal when travelling without own transport, so the offer of a shuttle service (even if it cost extra) would be most welcome.
Room was OK in size for our purpose, but Tea/Coffe facility in room would have been a welcome bonus. The view over the valley was amazing. Breakfast was continental style and on first impression felt limited in scope, however the quality of offering was excellent and we never left needing more in quantity.

United KingdomBathrooms are small and could do with some TLC. The bath whilst small was very welcome. Breakfast wasn't included in the room rate, if you eat breakfast at the hotel it is EUR 11.00 per person for continental breakfast. It was good although you might get better value for money at Tiffanie if you dont mind a take away breakfast
Bedroom had a beautiful view across the valley and mountains. Room was warm and very clean. Plenty of car parking if you have a car. Hotel is only 500m from the centre of Samoens so good for walking to and from in the evening. Staff are friendly and accommodating

FranceSorry guys, but it was really awkward. They basically put us out of the restaurant. We booked for 20h and they almost didn’t accept us. It was my birthday so we were 6 adults and 5 kids, we all had food and drinks. We even reserved a cake, with the candles and all, so maybe that was nice cuz they actually prepared something nice. But they pick up the rest of the cake before I could wven say that I wanted another piece 😣 and then they asked us to leave.. like move in the lobby couch 2m away for about 10 minutes to finish our drinks, and then around 21h30 they closed the restaurant, and put us out, like, ok b-bye now, go sleep. B*tch it’s my birthday I ain’t going to sleep at 9pm wtf? I asked for glasses so we can continued to drink in the room, and event if they gave it to us, they said that’s not a nice thing to do.. excuse me what ? You just kicked us out and refused to sell us anything else. What am I supposed to do at 9pm? Seriously?? Anyway, I could write more but I’ll stop here. Oh just one more thing. Next evening we wanted to eat outside, couldn’t find a place where we could fit (cuz we were 11 souls), and eventually we tried calling the hotel to see if they could take us in for dinner. I swear to god, it was 19h43 when I called, the lady said, we don’t serve food anymore, like it was already too late ! How ? People go out around 20h -21h to eat, and you don’t take us in at 19h43? God save me 🙏
The Bed was very very very comfortable and also the pillows (which is like super rare). And that’s probably the only nice thing about the hotel 😅
