How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

the parking of course is expensive and not close to the hotel

Quite a small room with noisy air-con! Wine was “off” at the bar.
Friendly staff, amazing location….central to everything we needed.

Air-conditioning was very loud and kept cutting in and out. It’s to be expected because the hotel is in an old building but lots of overhead noise with people walking above us. I would ask for a room on the top floor next time.
Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. They very kindly organised an early check-in for us. Fantastic location. Close to everything. Plenty of dining options nearby. Beaches were a very easy walk.

The toilet in our room had no wi Dow or ventilation
Very Well positioned in the old town. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Close to the beach, local restaurants, bars and shops. Dump the car and walk. Handy underground car park but very difficult to find first time.

The hotel was very welcoming and staff very friendly. We were a little surprised that breakfast was an additional charge (17 Euros) on top of the room charge which was already overpriced in our opinion. Otherwise a very pleasant stay in a lovely town.

Tiny room with a very low beam that my tallish husband knocked everytime he got into bed. Parking a total nightmare particularly for foreigners trying to navigate parking buildings

Fantastic location. Can't get more central to the town. The staff were super friendly who offered us advice on buses to airport and to Bayonne which was a bonus and lovely town to visit for the day if you fancy a change from Biarritz.

Nothing, rooms small but they tell you that
Fantastic location virtually on La Petite Plage with all the shops and restaurants at the front door but quiet on the rear courtyard. Rooms well equipped, staff very helpful and friendly.

Car parking (using the hotel's pass to access parking then dropping it off when we left) was complicated! Mainly because of the one-way systems around the hotel. If we go back I'd try to find another solution, or just walk from one further away.
Great hotel, really comfortable and pet friendly. Staff were very helpful. Location was perfect.

Rooms are clean and comfortable but pretty small and the hotel is not well insulated from noise in other rooms and the corridors. Quite pricey for the overall quality. Most staff good but not exactly the most friendly or welcoming

Hot breakfast not cooked to order.
Staff very welcoming, well informed. Location perfect for beach, bars and restaurants. Main shopping centre 150 yards Hotel located on narrow pedestrian street, plenty of atmosphere. This area closes down at 11pm which makes it quiet in the early hours.

Nothing, rooms a bit small but it did the job! No problem really.
EXCEPTIONAL LOCATION 10/10! Right near the beach, shops and restaurants but quiet for sleep at night. Staff were so easy going and wanted you to genuinely have a nice visit. It’s the little things, nothing was a bother or a big deal. it’s how hotels should be! On leaving they even walked us to the taxi waiting area and waited with us until the cab arrived to be sure we got away with no problems. so sweet! We highly recommend! We were two friends on a long weekend.
