We have stayed at the hotel before, but it is great to see how the offer has improved. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is really excellent, varied and plentiful. Mont-Dore as a town may have seen better days but we love the historic spa town vibe, and there are encouraging signs of regeneration. There was a Jazz Festival on when we stayed with free concerts - a real bonus. Good choice of restaurants in town.

Super friendly front of house. Great location. Great room that looked newly renovated. Great breakfast. I don’t understand the 2* rating, it’s much much better than that. Maybe it’s because they don’t have an elevator that’s all I can think of as it was terrific.

A small observation: at that price a coffee machine could be provided in the room.

Exceptional front-desk staff, great breakfast with home-made pastries. The room was outstanding - comfortable, spacious with a balcony overlooking the mountain. Location excellent!

The only negative was no lift - that being said, no lift is not a problem day to day - only arrival and departure with suitcases.

Without tea/coffee facilities in the bedroom, it would be helpful to have access to self-service hot drinks (even a machine) when needed.

A very good welcome, and helpful information about the area. The salon and breakfast rooms were beautifully and tastefully decorated, and the breakfast itself was the best we have ever eaten during our many holidays in French hotels.

For ourselves, I can't think of anything negative to say about this delightful hotel. However it is worth mentioning that, due to the design of this 19th century hotel, there is no lift.

Beautiful 19th century spa town hotel, with its own spa. Moderate sized room with a nice (if not large) bathroom. The views of the surrounding mountains are beautiful and the beds very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the manageress, who speaks good English. There is also a large, quiet garden, with plenty of furniture, and lovely views.

This is one of my favourite hotels where we've stayed several times over the years, Our 'Queen Room' had a separate sitting room and a view of the very comfortable garden. Breakfast is best described as magnificent and the staff are always keen to oblige.

The room had everything you wish for. Very clean and a beautiful view to the mountains. The hotel has a relaxing lounge and garden where you can just enjoying the surroundings or make friends with other guests. We were lucky to have the Tour De France going through town. The town itself has plenty of restaurants, shops and great for hiking, biking and running The lady at reception gave us a very warm welcome

Very welcoming hotel with friendly staff. A lovely, 19th century building that has been updated to meet modern requirements. Centrally located with good parking. Surrounding countryside is wonderful.
