Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaOnly downside is the hotel has one small lift only, which would occasionally skip your floor when waiting.
Neat modern room with balcony overlooking the street outside. Convenient location, close to restaurants and public transport.

United KingdomAir conditioning in our room non-existent. Room was very hot and we could not sleep. If the hotel put fans in each room this would solve the issue and I would definitely return.
Location is excellent, all staff were so polite and helpful and breakfast was well worth having - good value. Would definitely book this hotel again. Free water and coffee in reception is a good idea.

United KingdomIn the breakfast, would have loved to find something a bit more seasonal than apples as fruit and maybe also bacon. Instructions on how to properly action the AC system in the room would have been helpful. The hotel is located in an area that, especially on some streets, can look a bit rundown.
Staff very friendly and always available to provide help. The Premium room was quite small in size, but acceptable. Comfy bed. Great continental breakfast with good variety. Amazing they provide free water (both still and sparkling) and free coffee anytime in the reception. As for the location, very easy to reach other parts of the city through 4 different metro stations near the hotel. There are also several interesting places to eat in the area.

United KingdomAlthough the room was cleaned daily, I would have liked clean towels, but then I didn't ask for this and probably would have been given some if I had asked.
Booking in was simple and the desk staff were very helpful. The room was clean and plenty big enough for myself and daughter. We had a room overlooking the main road but were not disturbed by traffic noise etc. The breakfast was ample and there was plenty of choice and the staff were friendly. The location was only a 14 minute walk to the Gard du Nord and we used the metro system many times during our stay with no problems at all and at a reasonable cost. This meant we had easy access to all the usual sites. There was a shop opposite the hotel which sold everything you might need (bottle openers!). As we had to vacate our rooms by 11.00am and our train home was not until 6.00pm, we were able to store our luggage free of charge at the hotel securely which meant we were able to enjoy the last day without having to walk around with our suitcases. All the staff were friendly and I would definitely recommend staying here.

FinlandJust one glitch that the area around the hotel is good, but it is close to a metro station (can't remember the name) but while passing through that neighbouring area, it feels a little unsafe. But it is not much of an issue.
Good location. Very helpful staff. Pleasant ambience inside the hotel. Well designed courtyard within the hotel premises but unfortunately due to the rains we could not enjoy it much. But thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Trinidad and TobagoBath tub was a bit slippery. My mother, a senior citizen, had some difficulty using it. Next time I will request a shower only room.
Location is close to Metro , buses and train stations. I also enjoyed my daily breakfast. The availability of drinks in the lobby was a lovely gesture. I thoroughly enjoyed this after my return from the outdoors.

GermanyActually nothing. To be honest there is one thing which is not that bad. You don't have a key from the entrance, the main door can be opened only by the personnel from the reception. It is very good, no stranger can come inside. But once we had to wait more than 15 min outside, there was nobody at the reception. The rooms are really small, but it is a common thing in Paris. There is no fridge and no minibar in the room. We also didn't like the way to the metro station Chateau d'Eau, there were unpleasant groups of young men on the way. But the hotel has nothing to do with it.
Bravo, Happyculture! you have done a great job! The hotel is renovated, everything is clean, the bed is very comfortable. There are pleasant things like a kettle in the room, shampoo, a hair dryer. Best of all we liked the possibility to get coffee and sparkling water near the reception from a really good coffee vending machine free of charge! Breakfasts are also really very good - scrambled eggs, fried bacon, cheese and ham, cornflakes, fruit, pastry - well done! A supermarket is just 2 min walk. The railway stations are 1 km walk from the hotel. The personnel at the hotel is very friendly and let us leave the luggage in a special luggage room. It is free. In the lobby there is a microwave.

United KingdomThe stairs as an alternative to waiting for the sole lift only for the fit with luggage. When the receptionist was on other activities in the late evening we were unable to gain entry to the hotel until the receptionist returned to the lobby area. I understand the security aspect but that applies to guests also and perhaps this is a staffing issue that needs to be addressed.
Very easy to find, a 10-15 minute walk from Gare du Nord. Close to a metro station with lots of local restaurant and supermarkets in the area. The reception staff were helpful with advice. There is only one small lift which you need to be patient for as it serves the whole buildings. The stairs are many and circular so not the easiest for those with mobility issues or children in a pram. The breakfast was simple but adequate served in the basement floor. Room was clean with a fridge. The lobby is a good communal area and there is an outside patio area which tended to be used by smokers. Good bathroom with sower gel and shampoo provided.
