How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It can be a bit nosy, my room you could hear anyone in the landing/lobby as well as the street outside, didn’t bother me too much but might bother others. Also be mindful if your travelling heavy, no elevator and narrow spiral staircase
Great location and value, was only staying a couple of nights to explore the city and it was perfect for me

The hotel is in a fabulous location being very close to restaurants & l’Comedie area. It’s also quite close to the Montpellier station.

I thought the breakfast was just ok.
The owners were TERRIFIC. Very personable and helpful. The location was also great. Near the train station and the center of town.

There is nothing about this stay that we didn't like.
The location was perfect and the room was of a very high quality - just that little bit of luxury that makes you feel special. The staff was very friendly and able to answer any questions we had.

A lovely place in a quiet section, not far from the heart of Montpellier--Place de Comedie. Wonderful reception. Delightful naming of private rooms after notable French authors, writers and luminari. Tres charmant!

The bed was too small. The room was not ready to the general time hoped for...but they got on it with our arrival and allowed us to enjoy some of their coffee whilst we waited 15-20 minutes.
The staff getting us the ground level unit allowed my wife easy access. The bathroom was very accommodating with the zero clearance flooring. The location was perfect....with easy access to nearby plaza, restaurants and shopping. We looked for some room temp changes and the staff worked very happily to accommodate.

The jet shower is great but please ask owners to put a temperature limit on the dial and clear usage instructions.I unintentionally turned on full jets at very high temperature and could have been badly burned

My room was huge and so was the bathroom. But the bathroom was poorly designed with a jacuzzi tub and NO SHOWER. The jacuzzi jets were misaligned so when the jacuzzi was turned on water sprayed all over the bathroom. No instructions on how to turn jacuzzi off or on. Also there is a Bidet attachment to the toilet that does not work. The toilet seat SLAMS shut when you leave the room and opens when you enter the room. The bidet does not work so I finally turned the annoying appliance off. The worst part of the bathroom is that the toilet is set too high so my feet didn't touch the ground when when I sat down (and I'm 5'5" tall). All in all a very poorly designed bathroom. I would not choose this room again. Also lots of noise from street even with shutters closed.
Staff very helpful and welcoming. Good breakfast with excellent loose leaf tea selection. Staff asks what sweet you would like for breakfast (croissant, choc. croissant, brioche). You will be offered a soft boil an egg for breakfast and a small plate of cheese slices too. Very adequate. Great location.

Very compact bathroom, water pressure in the bathroom poor. Very slow flowing sink tap that needs descaling or replacing and the shower flow was only just adequate. No lift and very narrow twisting staircase - to be fair the reception staff help with luggage and there is not much they can do about the configuaration of the building but do beware if you are on an upper floor (I was on the 1st thank goodness!)
very good value, small but comfortable room, good bed and bedside lights. All the basics covered. Decent towels. Good breakfast - lovely fresh croissants and baguettes, fresh fruit salad and yoghurts. Very helpful staff - I had a major problem with a no show taxi that completely ruined my returned journey and involved additional costs to book new train tickets. Staff were helpful and tried their best to chase the taxi, got me a coffee etc - I appreciated their attempts to help.
