How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The carpet was quite worn and could use some updating.
Location was great. Beds were very comfortable and staff was super kind and helpful.

Quiet location off Rue Lepic but very close to restaurants and markets. Friendly and helpful staff: we asked for adjoining rooms and they made it happen. Good network speed. Comfortable.

Bedroom/en-suite a little on the small side. Breakfast 'hot' food (bacon, sausage, scrambled egg / option for boiled eggs), luke warm. Didn't like the sausage - rubbery. Would have preferred some other hot options, but this is typical in France.
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable. Breakfast - good varied selection. Lovely setting, good clean condition, nice and quiet.

We did not have breakfast. The staff : Barbara, Mauricio and Pierre were very attentive and helpful. The location is very good with a metro station within a few blocks and plenty of restaurants close by. We loved this hotel !

I can't think of anything I didn't like. The room was small, but I expected that.
I loved staying here. The room was small but very cute and clean. All of the staff members I interacted with were helpful and polite. The location was great! The neighborhood had a lot of charm and wonderful places to eat nearby. Several usb outlets in the room made charging our US devices easy. I enjoyed opening the window and looking out over the street. I'd like to stay here again when we come back.

That the main floor room was stuffy and hot. No air flow. Hard to sleep for that reason.

The classic single room was clean but cramped, including the bathroom. The furnishings were tired and old-fashioned, including the carpet.
Staff were very friendly and the bed was exceptionally comfortable!

Minor gripes just the shower could be more powerful although I appreciate it’s water saving. The hairdryer was so weak it was no good for thick/long hair so recommend taking your own travel size dryer.
Lovely quaint well decorated hotel. Cleaned/new towels daily. Good quality toiletries. Wonderful location in the heart of Montmartre. So many restaurants and bars to choose from. Close to metro, buses, Moulin Rouge and a short walk from Sacre Coeur. We loved our stay! Merci beaucoup!

The hotel staff took care of us when both of us became ill. They summoned doctors who took excellent care of us (this would never be possible in the U.S. unless one is wealthy) and made sure we were comfortable while we slowly recovered. Le Relais Montmartre is now and forever shall be my favorite hotel in Paris and, perhaps, anywhere.

Right on the street and the bins were picked up at 6am on Saturday morning so we were both woken up. Didn't matter to us really as we are early risers but it was very noisy for that time of the morning. Continental breakfast was provided for 15 Euros which we thought expensive so we chose to eat just outside in a little bistro for less
Lovely location in a busy, safe and friendly area that is very close to the Metro Room was clean, tidy and spacious Traditional and older style rooms with large comfy bed but the hotel lobby was modern and inviting with some lovely little extras (Coffee/Biscuits/Guides/Umbrellas etc etc)
