Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThere was no iron available and one of the ladies at reception was a little abrupt in the evening. All other staff were nice and friendly though.
My room was nice a large with a good size bathroom and shower. It was nice to have shutters to keep all light out as I needed to go to bed early. There is a nice bar and the evening food was really good. All four of my colleagues had great meals. There was plenty to choose from for breakfast too.

FranceA wonderful hotel for a short and well deserved break. I was overwhelmed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, and this was also felt by the guests, as I observed. The breakfast excelled with its quality not quantity: freshly squeezed orange juice, the array of different bread types, especially with the region’s specialties, not to forget the warm croissants and chocolate buns, all judiciously and delicately displayed in an excellent functional order, and not like the typical queue building up around a buffet. Our room was very comfortable as well, although my only negative note was tackling the ultra soft pillows, albeit adding the extra two from the wardrobe, into which I drowned! Finally, as the whole hotel experience depends upon it, I have always judged a hotel staff by the way they interact with the guests. On all levels. A hotel staff, man or woman, mirrors the general atmosphere of the establishment, whether they are happy or not, or enjoying their workday. With this in mind, I wish to thank Marie Alexandra (serving breakfast) along with her young colleague Maëva.

IrelandNo problems with the hotel. It is at the jumping-off point for the Ile d'Oleron, which gets hideously crowded at long weekends, so it's probably better to keep visits here to off-peak times.
The entire place seems to be run by one super-efficient woman who checks in guests, serves dinners, organises breakfasts, and all with a smile and endless patience. How she does it, we do not know. This was an exceptionally busy long weekend in France, and people were pouring in, hot, tired, and cross, yet she kept her cool throughout.

FranceThe hotel is located in the middle of nowhere but if you are by car or bike, you can easily get around. There is just not much going on directly near the hotel.
It's a warm and welcoming hotel, much more than your normal Ibis hotel. The staff was really friendly, the rooms are clean, the food at the restaurant is not bad and the pool is an added bonus in during the summer.

FranceI booked the room at one price and they tried to charge me more when it came to checking out. The lady who dealt with me argued that I must have made the booking incorrectly, insisting I hadn’t booked the room for a family of 4 - if that had been the case, why then was the room made up for 4 people? In the end I paid the amount I booked for, but it was a needlessly awkward end to a short family break. Due to this, I will unfortunately not be booking with them again.
We’ve used this hotel every year (sometimes twice per year) for the past 3 years as it’s conveniently located for the places we wanted to visit.

FranceWhen I made the reservation by phone on 11 August, manager said he would email me a confirmation. I called on the 16th because I had not received it & he sent it. minimum toiletries in bedroom (liquid soap). Long line in front of coffee machine @ breakfast. maybe a 2nd machine during high season? Breakfast sitting: outside sitting by the pool was full, I had to use another yard, unattractive, messy, with view on parking lot, Gedimat warehouse, lots of commercial vehicles coming & going, & sounds of loading equipment. during my whole stay, I was unable to connect to the Internet on my laptop (which contributed to my decision to cancel my third night). the manager was defensive, not cooperative, made his point that it was my problem, that everybody connects at all times, tourists as well as professionals. I was the 1st visitor ever to have such an issue. he suggested I go to Raid Info in a nearby small town for tech assistance. His attitude reminded me that in France, the customer is not king. at check out, I asked him why he did not request to see my pass sanitaire upon arrival around 2:30 pm. he said he may have forgotten & asked to see it & scanned it. he said it's required only when you sit in the restaurant. I said I did sit in the restaurant. he asked if I had dinner. I replied I sat in the restaurant for breakfast. he said they request the pass for dinner but not breakfast. I was unable to find any logic in these rules. Once back at home, I called Apple assistance regarding my connection issue. the tech person suggested I may have needed a password. I called the hotel to ask if one was needed & if there could have been one in the room. I was met with the same irritated & dismissive behavior by the same man who asked me "why are you calling me?" Thanks to his attitude, I will not recommend this place & will look for another hotel when I come back in the area.
The manager was helpful with directions when I arrived. Wide choice of breakfast food & drinks & generous amounts. Bedroom was big enough, & clean. Bed comfortable & very clean as well as mattress.
