How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Room is on the smaller side, as is the bathroom and shower. We think the room was near the hot water system which was quite loud at night. Not a huge amount of ventilation and the room got hot. Couldn't leave the window open at night due to noise and mosquitos. Would have been nice to have slightly nicer toilet paper.
Very close to the train station and tram. Perfect for transiting to Monaco and visiting old Nice. The decor was fun and gave the hotel character which boosted my opinion of the room.

The table in the room could be a little bit bigger.

The breakfast isnt included on the prize, it doesnt have elevator, so I had to make 3 floors by steps and the wc is out of the room, you have just the space to make a shower, but the wc is shared with 5 others room into the central hall where its located.
Perfect location, a couple of blocks from the train station, downtown and bus-stop to the airport. The room was pretty cozy and clean.

There was a particular hodor. Very old building even with some small changes. No elevator and no help of course. Too much noises. The outsider window is half broken and doesn't open and is fixed with screws.

Dreadful overpowering smell of drains in bathroom. It was like being in the old Paris metro! Noise from wooden floors in corridor and banging doors from other rooms on the floor. Also could clearly hear people in the next room talking.
Location, design of room, hot water, easy check in.comfortable bed. Dog friendly.

I felt like sleeping in an open area, near a main street - that's how bad the insulation was. Bed was also not the best - noisy + very thin pillows. No elevator.
Location is decent - close to train station and easy access to main commercial area in Nice(5mins walk). Rooms are clean, staff is OK. City center is at walking distance ~20mins, 12minutes walk to T2 for airport. Did not ordered breakfast.

For the price a toilet in the room would have been nice. Very noisy with poor sound proofing. Uncomfortable bed. Very basic.

Steep climb to 3rd or 4th Floor especially for a 73 year old with heavy luggage. The property would benefit enormously from an elevator although I can understand that with the fine period interior, installing this may be difficult. But it is much needed.

There was nothing I particularly didn't like. It was a place to drop the bags and get your head down after a day exploring etc, and visiting the place for the rugby world cup.

We had to go up steps to enter the hotel and there were a further 2 flights of stairs to access our room - there was no lift. Not all the lights in our room worked. The water in the sink in our bathroom didn't go down very quickly. The Wi-Fi didn't work in our room, but was OK in the lobby/breakfast area where we could sit and use it.
The room was small but manageable. It was very close to the train station, but was not noisy.
