Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing we found a little annoying were flies in the kitchen - at most about 7 or 8 were buzzing around. However, they clearly came in through the windows and are naturally occurring in rural / farming areas. Although a bit annoying we worked around it. We would happily stay here again but it's worth just bearing in mind you may have a few winged visitors :)
We received a warm welcome from our hosts, Gerald and Francoise. The studio was very clean and comfortable and they accommodated our request for an extra single bed for our son. Also, our dog was a welcomed guest too. All equipment e.g. kitchen appliances etc, including the quietest kettle ever :) and utilities worked well. Wifi was good too and overall everything met our needs for a very comfortable stay during our visit for the hot air balloon festival. The location itself was quiet yet also in a good sized village with some lovely nature walks nearby - and lots of sunflower fields too! The local boulangerie was great and also the local Carrefour store (just a minute drive away!) was brilliantly stocked with everything we needed in terms of food, drink etc. Perfect. The studio is at the side of the main building and we had clear access and a parking space. We also appreciated the small terrace and swing seat which we enjoyed a couple of times on sunny days. Verdun is a short drive away from Fresnes-en-Woevre (15-20 minutes) and the interactive citadel museum visit was brilliant. Also, not far away is Lac du Madine - one of our favourite places to visit when in the area. Lots of activities for young and old, nice eateries and views too.

United KingdomWalls are thin - you can hear a bit from other rooms; but that was only a little bother for us as the dogs kept barking and we really wanted to keep them quiet.
Superb located close to the motorway and Verdun. Easy to get there and for us ideal as we were transiting through France. Very friendly hosts, although they only speak very little English they made every effort to communicate with us. We were travelling with two dogs and the hosts were very understanding and accommodating. Loved the little breakfast in the morning - the homemade jams are amazing.

NetherlandsWe were traveling through France and we booked the Exotique room in this unknown (to us at least) village somewhere on the route. The owners greeted us heartily on arrival and despite our language barrier (Say Hi worked wonderful!) we managed well. Had an excellent breakfast (the home made marmalades were awesome!) and whatever we wanted, they could provide. If you're in town, also drop by the little shop in town selling items from all out of the region (La Vida Locale). Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to walk around the towns to discover its rich history, but maybe next time we will. We'd like to thank the owners for their warm welcome and facilitating our stay at their place.

SwitzerlandPeople make the difference in any business and despite language barriers - unfortunately our French is very poor - the owners at this property made us feel very welcome and were extremely helpful. The property is located on the edge of a small village 20 kms south of Verdun. The rooms are individually furnished, spacious and are very comfortable. The breakfast was continental style accompanied by some very tasty home made jams. Yummy! For those with time on their hands this property is situated in a French nature reserve and it is well worth avoiding the motorway if you can, as the countryside around there is magnificent. So, thanks ver much, there was nothing not to like.

SwitzerlandThe location is good if you are visiting Verdun and the war sites around there. However, the village tgat the hotter is in is extremely quiet. I think there is a kebab shop, bakery and chemist near by but I’m not sure what else. Fine for us but if you are looking for a little more to do on your doorstep you may be disappointed.
As a celiac I only had a little cheese and a yogurt but my brother in law said that the baguette and croissants were lovely. The home made jams were delicious too. The rooms are spacious, quirky and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the shower strong. The hosts were lovely, they don’t speak English but used google translate to its full at check in and also at breakfast just to make conversation. Lovely place, would stay again.
