Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe steepness of the stairs but this in no way detracted from a wonderful stay. We hope to return one day.
Beautiful setting, pool lovely and very welcome on 30c days, the owner was very welcoming, made us feel at home. The grandness of the breakfast room and views over the river from the terrace were awesome.

Quirky old building in a fantastic location. Hosts could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Food was fantastic and the terrace restaurant an ideal location to watch the setting sun. A well organised team that work seamlessly.

AustraliaThe nearest town with shops and restaurants is across the river at St Sozy which is a bit of a walk or a short drive.
We had a very comfortable stay at La Terrasse with a room overlooking the river. Be aware that there are only steps to the rooms as it is a converted chateau-we just took small bags up to our room. There seemed to be plenty of parking available nearby. We booked the restaurant for the night of our stay and were very happy that we did as we had a fantastic meal.

United KingdomThey all seem to go to bed so early in rural France, we were only allowed one night cap. It was all a bit of fun really and did not detract in any way from our overall experience.
A beautiful location on the bank of the Dordogne. Lovely old building. The restaurant had amazing views over the Dordogne, and the evening meal was great. The staff were very kind and helpful.

United KingdomIt was an absolutely unique experience to live in a medieval château like this -- waking up in a cosy room with stone walls and a peaceful view of the landscape. Everything is actually better than what can be described by the provided photos -- the cleanliness of the room, Michelin-level French cuisine served on a terrace where you spend your dinner time with the sunset, and most unforgettable of all, the thoughtful and welcoming hosts. This lovely place made me feel like home ❤️ highly recommend!

United KingdomWhat an incredible place to stay. The location is picturesque - views over the Dordogne. Food at Le Terrasse was wonderful (the chef did the children lasagna which was a really lovely touch). The staff were so very friendly - a wonderfully family run business who do the extra mile. We will be back!

United StatesThe dinner menu was difficult for an 11 years old child to decide what to eat. I don't remember seing a children's menu but if there is no children menu I would strongly recommend to create one with simple things like pasta, chicken, hamburger, ice cream as children like simple things :) and it's easy for them to select what they want. It was quite difficult for us to suggest something to him as we had a hard time explaining each dish on the menu. My son ended up not eating much of what he ordered from the main menu as he is not yet ready to be adventurous when it comes to food. He did like the selection of cheeses (as he could see them on a plateau and choose). He did like the breakfast as he could select what he wanted from the buffet.
The room was stylish, spacious, on two levels with a nice bathroom. Great view from the room on the pool and across the river. It was very quiet as if there was nobody around. Very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful with a good variety and in a very stylish castle style room. The host was very welcoming. The swimming pool was nice with easy access from the room and great view. The castle has great rooms to explore (climbing up the stone staircase in the tower). Very nice courtyard. Great view from the open air restaurant on the terrace. The dinner was modern cuisine with unique dishes to try out.

IsraelThis was a really nice place to stay. We had a very nice view from our room, and it was quiet and very comfortable. The dinner at the hotel's restaurant was tasty, and the view from there was also beautiful. The bed was very good and the air-conditioning worked very well. One of the reasons I chose this place was because I wanted to get the experience of sleeping in a Chateau - and for that I was willing to pay a bit more than I usually do. I can't say I really got much of a Chateau vibe, but perhaps the more expensive rooms give a more "royal" feeling. In any case, I'm happy we stayed here and it was a very good and comfortable stay. I want to emphasize once again how nice the view from our window was - it was truly lovely.
