How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There were insufficient power outlets in convenient locations to charge devices.

couldn't get the air con to work, wanted to close the doors to the balcony at night but had to leave them open
The staff were excellent, the hotel was located in a great spot. Our room had a balcony with fantastic views!

Friendlier reception and offer of assistance if needed
Very well located in the beautiful city. Both concierge’s were very helpful but a few of the lady receptionists were rather superior … an unnecessary attitude which unfortunately we see quite often in our travels … smile more , engage and offer help especially if the concierge isn’t around to help with luggage ( as happened on arrival after a long journey)! The breakfast was expensive but good and the staff were lovely We had a very small room but it was fine for just one night … the cost for the dog was high ( given the cleaning was the same) and you pay extra for parking ( which we thought was included ) Good hotel in a lovely city

The bathroom was spacious and the shower excellent. The bathtub was tricky to get in and out of and very slippery

The walls of the room were all stained with marks of luggage or vacuum cleaners banging on the walls.

We were kept waiting to be given a room, initially placed in a room with damaged and very scratched furniture, we complained and were placed in a better room. Rooms are looking tired. I wouldn’t call it a five star hotel.
Very central location. Great breakfast offerings. Very comfortable beds. Service from junior staff was great.

.1. We asked early check in at 14:00 p.m at advance by email but finally we got the room one hour later than regular check-in (about 16:00) 2. The bath room has very bad facilities: you can't close the door, water in a sink is staying, all items in bath are falling from their places_:5 stars hotel?)) 3. Service: staff has ordered us taxi to 4.40 a.m to airport but we were noticed at 4:41a.m that taxi is not available for us. At least the solution was found... 4. We paid for breakfast but asked to get us take away due to early leaving But got 1 piece cake x2 with teaspoons, that's it..lol...5 stars hotel?)) 5. Who is regular to air conditioner , bad news, does work properly, was hot in lowest mode.. I am doubt if it could be 5 star hotel...
Location is really perfect. Lobby is very beautiful. Room is large and view from the window is amazing. Breakfast and service was very good and tasty Staff is trying to provide a good service .

Everything about the hotel was fine

A very very minor comment: The very unusually large step up to the entrance of the hotel is rather challenging . Difficult to get suitcases up. A handrail would help

The room had a lovely view across the square and was a perfect temperature in the excessive heat outside. We had a separate toilet to the bathroom which was really useful for 2 people and the breakfast was great, having the option of made to order eggs was a bonus but everything else was great.
