Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt wasn't clear when we booked that the swimming pool/sauna etc wasn't in the actual hotel. The photos make it look as if they are in the hotel but you have to walk or drive to another location to use the facility's. There is also an additional charge for using the pool which we were not expecting.
Great location. Could park the car for free right outside. There were electric car chargers across the square and a great tourist information centre.

Returned to this hotel as it is a very welcoming place with helpful, charming staff and a great chef in its restaurant. The food is very good- this time the desserts were a great treat. The bed in our room was particularly comfortable.

JerseyConveniently situated with on site parking adjacent to the Hotel, the bedroom was not huge but ample enough as you only put your head down in it. A late ask if we could lodge a pet and this Hotel does. We booked a table in the restaurant and the food was presented well and delicious a big plus for us. The reception were really helpful and multi lingual. Nice little bar lounge area to sit and relax with a drink which we did before dinner..

United KingdomThere was a large tile missing above the toilet which revealed the insulation behind. Not a problem but unsightly. Our room was above the reception area which meant we had a good view of the square but also more awareness of people standing outside to smoke and chat. Not the hotel’s fault ,of course ,but slightly irritating.
Centrally located in this pretty small town with immediate access to its old/rebuilt streets and alleyways leading down to the flowery riverside. Luckily our room wasn’t one of the vibrantly decorated ones. Breakfast included a good selection of breads, pastries, fruits and cheeses.

Spainwe had a room at the front of the building, it was very noisy when cars came through which they seemed to do most of the night. as a light sleeper, this was an issue for me and the next day I felt very tired.
the location was great, very central to the centre, parking opposite the hotel was free. room was comfortable and clean. we ate in the attached restaurant which was good but a bit pricey. we didnt have breakfast as we needed to keep moving on up north through france to catch our ferry.

SwedenA carpented floor can easily feel dirty. But nice too. No included beakfast.
We stayed two nights and it was a really nice town, a good hotel with nice beds, a good bathroom, the windows were towards a bar and restaurant (so noisy OR nice, it depends on how you see it :P ), very close to the centre and all you wanted there, a big parking lot just outside, nice walks a long the "city". Coffee, tea and tv on the room.

United Kingdomin our room the mattress was uncomfortable, and could have been a king size instead of a double. the shower was cramp and in addition there was a gap between the shower tray and the door which caused water to come out onto the bathroom floor. this could have been rectified easily with a rubber sleeve at the edge of the doors. management were aware of this problem yet failed to mention it and gave us that room. the other members in our group had a larger room with better facilities including a safe. yet both rooms were charged at the same price. breakfast was good, however when asked for hot food such as a full English which included sausages communication broke down and we didn’t get what we requested. the fried eggs also had an after taste as if they were fried in old oil. restaurant food was ok. but I’ve had much better.
it was in the centre of a large town. easy access to shops, and other areas
