We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The service from the elderly owner was first class and caring. The bed wonderfully comfortable, service in the restaurant prompt, our evening meal, served by the owner, was excellent. We shall make an effort to return.

United KingdomWe thought the menu and drinks were really good but quite expensive compared with other hotel restaurants.
We had a lovely peaceful room which we were able to keep cool during the heatwave through the shutters and a fan. Our bed was really comfortable and like the room it was spotless. The delightful area outside was ideal for both dinner where an enormous shade protected everyone dining from the sun. Breakfast coffee was wonderful. We thought it was great value for money.

NetherlandsCosy, small family-run hotel. With neat , personal welcome. Does not speak English, but communication was fine. Nice room, with pleasant bathroom. Not small. On garden side and not bothered by traffic. Nice garden to sit in. Food in the restaurant was very high and creative quality. Limited menu though, but was offered another dish special after few days. Good price-quality balance. Good base for visiting Avallon and Vezelay. Breakfast with local cheeses was excellent.

This is a well run hotel in a small village outside Avallon. The owners provide comfortable clean rooms, a restaurant with limited choice but of a good standard. The owners couldn’t have been more welcoming & helpful.
