Food was horrible and dinner service subpar for a five star resort

It was lovely weather and my daughter and I were at the pool most days. Unfortunately what ever was added to the pool water - has completely ruined my swimsuits, along with my silver necklace. The position of our room was not great for a long stay. The main restaurant that served lunch and dinner - has the same 3 courses every day. It was quite a la carte with no other options - sandwiches etc on offer for lunch.

The room was comfortable - but not in a great location. Directly over the restaurant, with bright lights each evening. As we were staying for 7 nights we should have been on the other side of the reception area - where it was quiet. A shuttle was available every night to take us into town with a variety of restaurants. Market on Thursday was very good

The menu had just three items for the “main course” on it for the entire duration of our stay of six days and there wasn’t anything else to eat. A very poor vegetarian selection and the chef just wouldn’t cook us anything else. We ordered for pasta one evening and “boiled pasta” was served to us. This is not what you expect when you stay at such places. There was a Michelin star restaurant on its premises but after a full day of travel, you need some soul food and not dress up for a meal.

The property is really beautiful but it is the staff that gives it the overall feel. They are just too nice, efficient and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.

no coffee machine for 5 star hotel. just instant with electric kettle. The outdoor is not maintained lot of rust dry leaves in pool. The food at the restaurant is not good and no options. Sometimes you want to stay in and have something simple like pasta burger pizza ... but there were only complicated not clever and not tasty options.

Having stayed in many standards of hotels, including 5 star hotels all over the world, this hotel has been our biggest disappointment for reasons already stated. Just can't understand how this hotel was given a 5 star rating, 4 would have been a very generous rating. This is the first time we have checked out early due to poor standards. The internet photos were very selective and not representative of the hotel in general or we wouldn't have booked it in the first place.

The staff in general were very helpful and pleasant. The Vietnamese lady at breakfast was delightful, and so were the 2 male concierges. Unfortunately, the three waiters in the non-Michelin restaurant in the evening were lazy and inattentive. We had to go looking for them to order a dessert, one was sitting on the floor, one was standing against the bar and one was leaning against the wall all chatting between themselves and ignoring the guests.

I wish I had listened to the many bad reviews for this property. Poor service and poor management. We had an issue on our first night and I had asked the next day to speak with a female manager and that request was dismissed. I then wrote the GM of the property and his email responses were flippant and unprofessional. Our stay here was to be the highlight of our trip and it was beyond disappointing.

THE 5 STAR GRADE IS TOO GENEROUS AND IS PROBABLY BECAUSE OF THE MICHELIN RESTAURANT (183 EUROS FOR ONE PERSON.) THE STAFF ARE MAINLY FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE, PARTICULARLY BENOIT, BUT OUR ROOMS WERE NOT UP TO SCRATCH AND HAD OBVIOUSLY NOT BEEN CHECKED BEFOREHAND. A FAULTY KETTLE, AN UNWORKING SAFE, SQUEAKY DOORS, CUPBOARDS THAT SCRAPE THE FLOOR AND AN INFESTATION OF ANTS. THE CLEANING STAFF DID REALLY WELL TO TRY AND CLEAR THEM EVERY DAY. SO MAINTENANCE IS AN ISSUE, AND AT 830 EUROS PER DAY WE EXPECTED BETTER

We selected the property because the reviews said it was quiet and relaxing. We couldn’t even sit outside in the beautiful weather and enjoy the pool with the sun, because of the construction noise, rock/gravel machine, weed cutters. It was louder than a London construction site. Really overwhelmingly loud. There’s also a strong fertilizer smell around the pool and outdoor area. Maybe that’s temporary. I really wanted to love this property, But there are so many issues that the price doesn’t make sense. My husband had to ask numerous times for extra lights for our room, and finally they became very helpful which we appreciate, but he did have to ask several times because the room was so dark. When they did finally start helping us, it was great. The gym, mentioned by other people, has four machines, but I wish they had been more responsive to previous reviews regarding only one set of weights. The weights are only 3lb, and much too light for most people interested in fitness. I highly suggest investing a couple of hundred dollars and just getting a complete hand weight set. The staff answering the phone//front desk when you walk in look like children. They’re all very young, not super knowledgeable when we called, and not what you expect to see in a five-star facility. It feels a bit overpriced for the level of service and amenities, and we were willing and happy to pay for a suite thinking it would be relaxing, not realizing that the noise is louder than our city life during the day. We couldn’t even open our windows because of the noise. And there are no plant-based options on any menu unless you want a chef to cook some vegetables on hand for you. I would urge them to consider vegan options to cater to your international guests. They are nice enough to bring you plates and silverware if you can grab something from the organic store in town.

The Wi-Fi seems great. I had a three hour video call and it only dropped one time. The ‘spa’ is very small, and only the sauna and the indoor pool are operational, but the sauna was really hot and you just have to reserve it for two people. Grab the towels from the indoor pool, because the woman at the desk disappears.

The views, the location and the relaxed atmosphere. The staff was exceptional. I spoke to the front desk on the morning of our planned arrival and let them know that we would arrive 2 hours prior to check in. When we arrived a member of the staff came out before I turned the car off. He knew my name and immediately took charge of our luggage. When we walked in the front door to register we were offered cold water and were given the same level of high level service.
