Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI think it was still early in the season, but the grounds had been left unmanaged and the outdoer tables weren't clean. That said I doubt they expected the sudden hot weekend we experienced. Maybe because of the Eco focus, but I was surprised for hotel to have a very limited Wine List (but it was good) and just one beer available.
A beautiful building in a great setting, albeit with the front / reception on an N road. We had a garden Room so no noise and a great view. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly with a fantastic kitchen and restaurant.

United KingdomThere is a little bit of jaded charm about the rooms with a few fixtures and fittings needing maintenance, a rather old, small TV and it would have been nice to have coffee/tea making facilities in the room - this might be an issue for some guests. Access into the car park is quite tight so care needs to be taken but great to have on-site safe parking.
Very old world charm with lovely polite and welcoming English speaking staff. Beautiful building with lots of character and felt very relaxed. Excellent stopping point on way back from Languedoc with an easy 4 hour run up to Caen the next day. Would recommend having the dinner at their restaurant - the food was superb and a great choice of wines - fabulous. Breakfast was all local organic produce but a little expensive.

IrelandRoom was situated beside a main road with HGV vehicles going past all night. Traffic lights near Hotel so people were looking in to our bedroom. Bathrooms not clean. Receptionist did not smile at all and was quiet rude when we came in through a garden door and not a front door?
Garden was beautiful and food in restaurant which we had on the terrace in the garden served by a very friendly young efficient man.

United KingdomThe bed was not at all comfortable as it was very hard. Not really an issue, but better lighting in the rooms would have been a bonus. In all although the hotel, staff, food and feel of the hotel were really lovely it could do with a little updating.
This is a beautiful hotel with a really lovely pool. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The food was absolutely lovely. The whole place has a very relaxed and rustic feel. I would definitely stay again if I was traveling in this area.

United KingdomMain bed location.
Exceed expectations overall. I would have preferred a room with a little more privacy. The upstairs of our loft was lovely but the main bed seem 'squeezed' into the downstairs and could have been more comfortable if arranged differently.

United KingdomRoom had not been cleaned during whole stay. Bins in room overflowing. In the high heat, with a baby and used nappies, the smell of rubbish was unpleasant. No clean towels provided. Bed not turned down. The stay was uncomfortable due to poor services. Which is a shame, as the hotel and gardens are beautiful Could not find staff members whom spoke English to raise concerns with.

United KingdomOur only problem was the noise in our Annexe room, which was right on the main road with trucks roaring past all night. If we had realised that we wouldn't be able to sleep, we would have booked a room looking over the garden or the village, and in that case, would probably be raving about the hotel. As it was, a sleepless night before a long drive rather soured our impression of an otherwise lovely place.
We stayed here for one night en route for the ferry home. When we arrived, we walked through lovely gardens into a charming French house: it seemed a perfect place to stop and we were delighted with it. At dinner there was only a choice of two main dishes, but both were excellent. Breakfast, though limited for 15 euros, was also delicious.

AustraliaWe had a room in the “annexe” which was tiny, unbearably hot, and had windows that opened straight onto a major truck thoroughfare that meant you couldn’t hear yourself speak if they were open. Thankfully when closed the room was quiet but I had to ask for a fan (even though it was stated as included in the room) and the room was still very stuffy and hot.
The garden and pool were lovely and peaceful. The house looked nice from the outside. Restaurant on-site, meal was ok, not great. Staff were good. Breakfast was ok

It is too noisy to sleep with the windows open - room became stuffy with the windows closed The pool was cold which is unusual for the end of May The WiFi in the annex where I was staying wasn’t working

FranceI paid for a garden room and for the price I would have expected better amenities. The table in the room resembled old garden furniture. The Tv didn’t work(it was plugged in!) The bed was a small double. Only one mirror in bathroom and not enough light to put on makeup. Shower gel had almost run out so had to use sparingly. The evening meal was very good, however served in a courtyard covered in plastic panels, so no atmosphere. Napkins were paper, tablecloths a woven plastic. There was a large cobweb hanging from the ceiling! Food good but not gourmet restaurant. Breakfast 15 euros each but extremely basic, just bread, croissants, jam , I had to ask for a yoghurt, no sliced cheese or meat which is usual in French hotels.
The garden and pool were excellent . Evening meal was good.
