Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFelt the breakfast needed help. Breakfast scrambled eggs were always cold! despite being there at 0830 a lot of food wasn't topped up, bit of a bun fight, and toaster took forever!
Room was beautiful, super shower and comfy bed. View was spectacular. Staff were lovely and dinner was really very good.

United KingdomNothing that we didn’t like as such. However, we arrived later than planned and were told that we should have booked the restaurant and that it was full. They advised that we wait until later and then ask to see if we could get something to eat. Thankfully, after a long wait, they agreed to do us Steak Tartare, which is fortunate as by then it would have been too late to eat anywhere else. It was a nice meal, but very expensive at 30 Euros each for one course. Especially given that it was included on the set menu which was 3 courses for 36 Euros :-(. Unfortunately it did appear as if they had taken advantage of our situation. I recommend you book if you want to eat there.
This was a good place to stay for our first stop from Calais travelling through France. The Hotel is really nice, with a good restaurant and outside terrace with lovely views over Saumur. It is also dog friendly and there are grassy places to walk very close by. We had a studio room, with a kitchenette and fridge, which was an added bonus as we were able to keep our cold box supplies chilled in there overnight for the three day journey to Spain. The breakfast the next morning was very good and good value for money and they were also very helpful in catering for my GF needs.

United KingdomPositioned on the outskirts of Saumur with no other bars or restaurants in the area. A good posion though for exploring by car
The space was excellent. Large bedroom, good size sitting room and small kitchen, plus a large wooden decked terrace which was perfect for dining on as the sun set. Very quiet. The pool area was beautiful, clean with lovely view over the city to the chateau.

United Kingdombreakfast was ok, just average and overpriced (Euro 25 p.p.) for the range and quality. The restaurant was excellent with very good food, however most of our choices (wine and menu) were unavailable so that we were 'upsold' on everything and ended up spending more than we would have wished for an overnight stop.
We liked being able to drive up and park easily. the gardens and terraces are lovely and it was great to be able to relax by the pool after a long hot drive. Beautiful terrace bar and restaurant and our studio room was spacious, airy and comfortable. Great beds and nice little outside seating area. Nice views across the vines and over Saumur. Good reception staff. Nice food in the restaurant.

United KingdomA mere observation and my opinion. Photos make this look better than it actually is. The outside areas are very tired and in need of a spruce up.
Lovely greeting from very friendly staff. The room was pleasant with a great view and very good facilities for a small kitchenette. Nice private outside space (Palmera Room I think?) Comfy bed and nice and clean. Great parking.

Boutique feel, only slightly more expensive than chain hotels but 100% more charm. Pool/dining layout fantastic, great views from the terraces. Great room which felt more like an apartment than a hotel room, two balconies, air conditioning and window shutters all welcome additions. Fab individual decor.

United KingdomThe few bad reviews are bewildering, which hotel did they go to???
Clean, generous, roomy, functional, all the essentials, comfortable beds. We booked a value hotel because of the dog so didn't expect much, this is not a fluffy towel, luxury hotel the room felt slightly basic on entry but the fact was the room had everything we needed and more. The bed was exceptionally comfortable with deliciously soft pillows. The room was huge with doors to a little private terrace and importantly we were able to black out the light at night with the shutters. It had been cleaned very thoroughly - essential when dogs stay. Nice hot shower and a good size bathroom. Little kitchenette in the corner was really well equipped. Also not far to walk from the parking. WiFi was excellent and connects instantly all round the hotel. The pool was great. Then there was dinner. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. Dinner was taken on a little terrace not far from the pool, with a beautiful view of the city, attentive waiters, fresh, classic French food, followed by a stroll around the pretty rural surroundings.
