Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was a spiral staircase to the bedrooms which may not suit everyone’s personal mobility.
Beautifully decorated house, with taste and style, each room had a theme, with comfortable furniture and stunning bathrooms. Beds comfortable and plenty of toiletries towels and amenities. Main house had a lounge and dinning room which we had access to. Extensive garden area with hot tub and relaxing furniture, with sun shades. Our host Nicholas was a joy, we were offered drinks on arrival and we also took the option to have dinner which was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and a fantastic breakfast was provided the next morning. We felt very welcome and Nicholas had done a fantastic job of creating such a stunning place to stay.

United KingdomNot much! Bathroom lighting could have been brighter in our room, but that’s not-picking
Situated in an unassuming village, this table d’hote was exceptional and we can’t recommend it highly enough. Our host, Nicolas, was so welcoming and genial and the rooms are something else in terms of decor. If in the area it’s a must. Please give it a go!

The decoration of the house. Fantastic attention to detail. A great theme … it certainly is the Maison de Plumes. The food was fantastic - locally sourced and the vegetables home grown. Nicholas went out of his way to please - he upgraded us to a bigger room at no extra cost. Extremely personable.

United KingdomWe stayed one night at Maison Des Plumes on the last night of our holiday and picked this guest house because it was close to Calais and the reviews we had seen said that Nicolas was a great host and cook, and they weren’t wrong!! I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere with such a kind and charming host! As soon as we arrived, Nicolas was keen to show us around the guest house and make sure we had everything we needed, arranged some drinks with some delicious homemade snacks, cooked us a fantastic three course meal and arranged a huge breakfast the following day too. The property has been renovated by Nicolas in an art deco style and the attention to detail is fabulous. Nicolas was happy to share his stories of renovating the property, his restaurateur background and tell us about attractions in the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thought it would be a great venue for a private celebration too, which Nicolas said he would be able to accommodate having done a few in the past. It really was a pleasure to stay with such a welcoming host and meet his friend who helped with the dinner service and the other guests that we dined with too. Such a lovely end to our trip.

Belgiumessentially nothing could be better. You need however a car to tour the region as the place is a bit in the middle of nowhere.
The manor is located in a small village, a bit isolatedin the countryside. Which is essentially the only drawback I could spot. For the rest, the place is wonderful, very quiet. Nice garden and terrace where you can just relax, have a glass of wine or dine. The owner is charming, takes care of his guests in a perfect way. The jacuzzi allows a relaxing moment after a long day of exploring the region and visiting. Each room has a different decoration on the theme of a bird. We had twice dinner at the manor and it was delicious. And for dessert I got my birthday cake, thank you Nicolas :-)

The house is beautiful, immaculately clean and stylish. Our host, Nicholas, was wonderful. He was welcoming, attentive and charming, and cooked us a lovely meal accompanied by good wine, which we ate in the garden. Nothing was too much trouble.

NetherlandsSuch an extra special overnight. The host is so warm and cheerful, and absolutely everything is thought out, from where to park, refreshing drinks and snack, dinner, everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We actually wished we had planned 2 nights, just to relax longer in the garden. We will definitely make this part of future trips through this area!

United KingdomThe hotel was a bit more remote than we expected (our fault entirely) but Le Touquet and Boulogne are around an hour away, so we explored during the day. As a result, we would recommend eating at the hotel in the evening unless you want to drive; the food at the hotel is fabulous so why not anyway! However, do prebook to ensure availability.
What a fabulous quirky place! We absolutely loved the decor and each room has its own personality. Our group of ladies booked the parakeet, flamingo and ostrich rooms. All had lovely en suite bathrooms. The beds were very comfy indeed. Such a warm welcome from Nicholas, and he was attentive and provided very helpful information. We had an evening meal on our arrival day at the hotel, which was home cooked, delicious and good vfm. The next day we had lunch out and Nicholas provided a cheese and charcuterie board as requested which was delicious and also good vfm. We loved the hot tub which we had exclusive use of at an agreed time for no additional charge. Fabulous breakfast too with a fresh home baked brioche loaf each morning. There's not a bar as such but we had gin and tonics before, wine with dinner and some cognacs and amaretto after dinner, all at a very reasonable price. Nicholas really has thought of everything!

GermanyThis place was an absolute dream! It’s everything I wanted a staycation/getaway to be. Truly felt like home thanks in great part to Nico and the comfort/charm of the place. The property and rooms were just as pictured, no doctoring of images here like most places to book that look too good to be true. Stayed for dinner one of the nights and it was incredible! Highly recommend booking here :)

Nicholas our host was fabulous, he could not do enough for you. He made us feel very welcome checking that we had everything we needed and encouraging us to treat the house like our own. Breakfast was excellent, however, I would urge you to make sure you have dinner because it was fantastic. The homemade Foix Gras was to die for!! And just when you think it cannot get any better you hop in the spa and soak away any worries.
