How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

as another visitor has mentions … The doorway in to the building was quite difficult to find and not as expected
the apartment was spotless and very well presented. The bed was very comfy and great water pressure for the shower- 2 of my main gripes when I travel. the hostess was so lovely and helpful

Being behind a petrol garage during strikes. Noisy and occasionally fumes from queuing vehicles. This was out of the owners control.
The apartment was very clean and modern. All the facilities were in good order and modern. The staff were very accommodating and reposed very quickly to our questions and requests. Great that there was a lift.

pipes sometimes made noise at night. it is a lovely redone apartment, but in an large, old building so perhaps building has dated plumbing.
Very good location. close to train station, and a short walk to the Pannier area and port. Christophe was very helpful and kind. very new and clean apartment. I recommend it!

Great location. You can go to the Vieux-Port easily by walk. Great staff especially Christophe:) We had a great 4 days with my wife. Price was good for this location. I recommend everyone. Have fun!

Chantal, the kind lady who has welcomed us, was phenomenal! Simply adorable. The location is close to the main train station and we walked by feet every day to get to the Vieux Port. Very spacious apartment, clean and cosy. We had eveything we needed. We ordered their breakfast that was huge and so good (their fresh marmalades were so delicious!). Merci for a wonderful stay!

It's a bit small and wasn't super easy to find first time but just to say something, it was great
Very nice apartment and the staff was super useful, even letting us late checkout due to not having further reservation It's a small place but has a super comfy bed, nice bath and kitchen with everything, and close to station and center (20' by walk to both)

Christophe was a very good host. He even woke up early to serve us breakfast since we had an early departure. Location is also close to the station. On the whole it was good value for money ! Angie and Iwan from Malta..

Everything was good.
The room was excellent with all facilities. Christophe is a lovely host and was constantly checking with us and making us feel safe. As we were there to celebrate our special day he arranged a beautiful surprise for us. Good temperature control in room with all cooking facilities. Felt like home! Will definitely consider staying here again. We had a lovely time in Marseille.

The appartment was very clean and had a lot of facilities (e.g. espresso machine). The owner was very kind, helpful and he responded very quickly on everything we wanted. Everything was excellent!

The service from Mr Christophe was excellent. Very good location close to most areas of interest. We had all the necessary utilities/appliances for our stay. Highly recommend it!!

The entrance was quite bizarre and not at all as expected. I thought Id booked b and b but as I was in the apartment rather than a room it was not. This is v unclear on the website

We had to go home.
The apartment we stayed in was superb. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped so you can easily cook food if you don't fancy going out. Christophe was a lovely host who met us when we arrived and showed us around the apartment and was also willing to help with anything we needed during our stay. If we decided to return to Marseille we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and will definitely recommend to friends.
