Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot really a hotel, more like a school and had the feel of a dormitory or hospital about it. Every morning at 7.30 we were awakened by dozens of people playing football and shouting right below our window.
Location was ok - 10 minutes walk from nearest metro. Room was clean and basic. Breakfast was ok - cereal, croissants and ham/cheese.

RomaniaEven though the cost was low, i expected more when it comes to facilities (only 1 hairdryer for the whole hotel that was never available and an iron machine that ruined my shirt). Also, while one younger guy from the staff team was really helpful and sweet, the others seemed to not really be interested in our existance. Also, there should be mentioned that there is a city tax you need to pay at the property. As far as I know they could also include it in the rating.
The value for money is excelent, the location is not as far from main objectives as it seems since it’s pretty easy to reach them by metro and the room was really clean.

LuxembourgThe night manager was rude to guests, this place is not suitable for groups - only one room key given per room (even if it is triple). Sockets in several rooms didn’t work. Also, some furniture was severely worn out.
Clean, and exactly like the pictures.

SpainUnfortunately I did find some points that I have already read in other reviews. The room doesn’t feel completely clean. There were some corners with dust. It also needs a bit of renovation. The door of the bathroom in our room was deteriorated, surely for the water of the shower and the humidity over the year. The toilet in the depth doesn’t look clean either, all for stains during the time. And lastly, we didn’t have warm water to shower. It could’ve been our room only or this week only. In the beginning at night it was a bit hard to know how to access the hotel as the gates are closed for security (which is highly appreciated). But maybe some indications or signs could’ve been great to find it easier.
What I liked the most was probably the area and the access to different facilities such as Metro Stations at 10 minutes walking each and the proximity to different restaurants that are rated amazingly. I also feel like the price is really good. Paris is one of the most expensive cities and this hotel with included breakfast and a delightful and secure area give us that point in favour. The beds were comfortable and from the outside it was very calm. We received clean towels everyday and the staff was very friendly.

GermanyThe price displayed on the booking.com site does not give the actual figure. I was charged an additional 227 Euros which was not disclosed at the time of booking, Making this transparent at the time of booking will be really helpful.
The room and location was really good. It's well connected to main city via Bus, Trams and Metro even though its a bit far from the main city center.

Anyway this was not that stressful but they the kitchen potter blame us stealing of an apple and a 🍊 orange from our breakfast table .This was disgusting. We have already complained by several staff. The staff told us that the manager will apologise by us in written. Rest everything was fine. It was neat and clean. Thanks and regards Mina

United KingdomWe had 2 bunk beds and the bottom beds had really soft mattresses and as there were springs underneath, it wasn't the most comfortable but still great value for money.
We liked the location (although at the edge or Paris it was just a 5-min walk to the nearest underground station), the cleanliness (the cleaning staff came every morning) and the breakfast we had included. The receptionists were really lovely and supportive.

BelgiumThe street was totally inaccessible during our stay. We weren't warned about this and had to waste close to 2 hours to search for a parking spot, and that after a long drive to Paris.
It was clean and spacious.

BrazilThe building, the corridors looks like a hospital (I think it was before) and smells like a hospital. It’s weird. After you take a shower in the bathroom it stays wet all day because there’s not event a curtain ou a bath to separate.
The room is ok, they change the towels everyday and is easy to find the building. The bedroom was warm and they give breakfast.

GermanyWinter is not the best part of the year to stay here. The heating didn’t work so it was very cold to sleep, but we used additional blankets from the other beds.
The best thing is absolutely the price! The staff was friendly and the included breakfast had a great variety of food.

CanadaThe mattresses are a bit of a letdown. They're pretty old and have this annoying sunk-in-the-middle thing going on. Also, the bathroom situation could be better. There's no shower curtain, which isn't a big deal, but something to mop up the water on the floor afterwards would be a game changer. It'll make the bathroom dry faster because then it become unusable if you use socks in the room and don't want them to get wet.
The hostel really nails it in terms of cleanliness, It is spotless. Location is not the best but it is super close to public transport, which is a huge plus. The staff are super nice and always ready to help. Breakfast is okay, nothing to write home about, but it does the job. And if you're working while traveling, their internet is solid for video calls.

SloveniaStrange way to get into the hotel in the evening. You have to push the button at the car gates and have to wait (sometimes for quite a long time) until somebody in the hotel hears you and opens the door.
They proposed whole hostel rooms (with 4 bed) for single guests for quite affordable prices. Plus a good breakfast. Quite a good place if you want it cheap. (But it was low season in my case)

IndiaIt was great, special added value for money with great breakfast. I would definitely travel again to the place. The only thing which was currently an issue with the room was the heating. It wasn't working for technical reason and it was extremely cold winter night so that was is drawback but the sweet staff gave us a small blower to feel warm. I highly recommend.
