Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesExcellent! Our 2nd year staying at Hotel Tsanteleina and our family of 4 enjoyed the warm welcome. Suite: We booked the same suite as our 2023 trip, and our children loved coming back to a familiar space. Pool: Our children enjoyed the pool, spa lux feel with warm temperatures to close out a day of skiing. Hospitality: We were warmly greeted by the staff with our suite being available earlier than expected! Luggage and ski equipment were taken upon arrival and stored directly to the ski lockers (a definite plus after an international flight traveling with equipment) Location: Great location to restaurants, shopping and skiing! Dining/Bar: Breakfast was a wide variety of food with nice views of the mountain. The bar was also a nice gathering spot, with excellent bartenders. Merci Beaucoup, Hotel Tsanteleina!

United KingdomSome selfish and noisy people were partying in the spa and the staff seemed powerless to stop these people ruining the experience for others. The food at dinner aimed high but achieved medium. The reception could do with more staff - I waited ten minutes at the front desk while one very polite and patient member of staff dealt with a rude and impossible customer who wished to know the precise dimensions of every room in the hotel.
One of the older and posher hotels in Val, and pretty good fun. Helpful and pleasant staff. Small rooms (it's a French ski hotel), but comfortable. Very good spa. Welcoming bar. Good breakfast. More Francophone than Anglophone, a pleasant rarity in Val d'Isere. Valet parking.

United KingdomThere is little to not like. Breakfast could have been a little more adventurous as it was the same every day. No choice other than what was provided. The bar is lovely and we have used it many times over the years but there was a problem with the beer pumps which didn’t get fixed all week so resorted to extortionately priced bottled beer.
Location is excellent, right in the square. Old traditional hotel with a modern spa feel. Room was cozy and well insulated from the cold and noise.

IrelandBreakfast was absolutely horrendous. Wouldn't be suitable for a 2 star hotel, let alone a 4 star. I've never seen a worse breakfast offering. The fruit section was the highlight with a mouldy black carrot being the piece de resistance.
Great location, lovely rooms, very nice staff.

United Arab EmiratesThe toiletries were of low quality, in particular the shampoo and conditioner. No milk left in the room for Tea & Coffee. Breakfast - This is a beautiful room overlooking the snow; however, having chairs and tables stacked against the back wall was not very appealing. There was a lack of staff to clear away plates and to top up the food stations
We had the suite village view with a sleeping mezzanine which was perfect for two adults and one child, age ten. The room felt luxurious and cozy with the throws, carpet and wood walls. The location is excellent for access to the ski lifts (5 minutes walk) and all the restaurants in Val. I would recommend this hotel and will be back.

NigeriaHotel is fantastic; the staff are absolutely delightful, my wife enjoyed the spa and the location of the hotel is unbeatable in terms of its proximity to shopping and it's only a few minutes walk to the slopes. The hotel has a very nice and comfortable ski locker for the guests to use and our room looks like it was recently refurbished / updated and it has more storage and closet space than any other hotel room I've ever stayed in (we were a family of four).

United KingdomI was told on checking on arrival breakfast was included in the reservation, it wasn't but they only presented me with the breakfast bill on 4th morning. We came to a compromise. The room for £500+per night should have water and tea/coffee facilities, proper soap and more towels. Clearly cost cutting measures implemented since COVID times.
Friendly staff, an enjoyable bar area and good spa and swimming pool. Good location- Very handy for walking to main ski lifts in Val D' Isere and shops and restaurants. Good boot room for ski equipment.

Saudi ArabiaThe level of breakfast options was disappointing, you have to pay extra for eggs from the kitchen. And the coffee was really really bad! Also, the hot water for tea didn’t come from a kettle or an urn, it comes from the coffee machine so isn’t very hot. I went for coffee at the cafes round the corner next to the slopes.
The location is amazing
