Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Location was perfect for me as it was close to the airport. And not to difficult to get into city center.

Enormous room and warm. Could have done with tea and coffee in the room. Rather than going down to the kitchen. Needed soap too

Czech RepublicVery nice and very well maintained house. Spotlessly clean. Our room was bright and spacious, with nice views, comfy beds. Kitchen is fully equipped. Washing machine and dryer on the site. Pleasant part of Liverpool, too. We wouldn't hesitate to book the same place again in the future.

United KingdomBeing picky one bedroom I stayed in not 100% spotless and there was only 1 fork available in the kitchen, but I assume most of them had been stolen!
Spacious rooms, good bathrooms upstairs if not ensuite and handy use of communal areas. Plenty of free parking nearby.

United KingdomA king size bed would be a great bonus for a room of that size. Also a small towel we could lay on the floor when getting it out of the shower.
Convenience location to family. Easy access with codes. Bedroom very large, plenty of space.

United KingdomA minor suggestion is that it'd be worth placing a notice in the kitchen explaining how to use the microwaves (apologies if there was one and I missed it)! I'm used to cheap idiot-proof models where dials are turned to select power and start cooking for a given duration, but it wasn't obvious how those at the property worked - all was OK in the end, though, as a fellow guest showed me.
The property is spacious, was very clean and quiet and is located in a pleasant part of Liverpool. Tom (presumably the proprietor) sent access codes to enter it and my allocated room via Booking.com which afforded easy access without any issues. It's served by good local public transport links (though be advised that all-day/return bus tickets bought on Stagecoach services aren't strictly-speaking accepted by Arriva) and there's a great Indian takeaway and sandwich shop not even a few mins walk away, as well as a general convenience store.

United StatesI wish they had had a shower mat, as the bathrooms tended to be very wet after someone had showered! My room had sparse outlets, and two of the four I found were behind the bed. This meant that I was constantly choosing between laptop and kettle, fan and lamp. It took about an hour to get from here to central Liverpool by bus. But it was the best value for the price in Liverpool, and I would stay again.
The kitchen was a real bonus, as were the laundry facilities. A kettle in the room was a great touch. Walkable to Aldi and Asda; quiet street with very little traffic. Felt safe for me as a single woman coming home after dark. Sharing bathrooms is always a little fiddly, but they were cleaned daily.

United KingdomI found clusters of hair on bed and I doubt the duvet cover and pillow covers get changed every time when people move out. lights in the room are not good for reading. there was a lamp in the room but I cannot use it because it was too far away from the socket. bad soundproof. Cleaning liquid and sponge were not supplied in time. no wonder the cutleries could be found in gross condition sometimes if nothing were there to clean them properly (as those were supposed to be cleaned by guests themselves). Some guests were gross and did not clean the toilet after they used it. the host can put up specific sign asking people to sit down to pee and brush the toilet after bowl movement.
Host Tom has been helpful. I changed my room and both the size of rooms were very good. I was given choices when I needed to change. public space like toilets and kitchen get cleaned two or three times a week. so they are usually in good shape. a not bad choice when you have no where to go and you need a temporary transit with affordable price.

IrelandRoom was great for a weekend, only drawback was having to go through the kitchen and into utility room for bathroom. But it wasn't a huge problem. Just at night when other folk haven't cleaned the kitchen floor after children have dropped crumbs all over it. The window in the room for air was so high up I couldn't close it,but it thankfully was warm. The blinds could be a little better for full privacy. But for the great spot for travel it was worth it for the price.
Room was great for a weekend, the bed was amazingly comfortable. Plenty of cupboard and clothes hanging space. I did appreciate being on the ground floor.

United KingdomWe chose this guesthouse as we booked last minute and the room was cheap. However if your travelling into Liverpool for a drink, taxis can cost you up to £15. However if you are driving this is a perfect location.
Nice clean property. Rooms are basic but we just needed somewhere to sleep as we were there to sight see. Shared bathroom, it was very clean and we got to use it as and when needed. The guesthouse is situated in a nice quiet area and if your travelling into Liverpool by car it's a great base camp and very affordable.
