How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The mattress was quite uncomfortable (very soft), but that might be a personal preference.
The place is spotless clean and provides you with everything you need. Highly recommend.

Everything was really clean and organised, plus you get to use the kitchen and some of the food the hotel provides for the clients. The owner was super helpful and nice. Would a 100% recommend this place.

Location was great: 5 min from bus station. Al is a wonderful host, very responsive and attentive to my needs. When checking-in, he provided me a quick orientation on Cambridge, what to do and recommendations. Also he showed me another room that was available then and I have chosen it as it was on the backside and quieter. The property is very clean and welcoming. Very comfortable bed. The cereals and milk were provided free and was a great to get your day started. When leaving, he happily provided a place to store my luggage and also to do some work. I would definitely come again!

Everything was perfect.
Very cozy; spotless at any time, clean and tidy. The towels are really soft. Very warm and comfortable. The landlord is very friendly and helpful.

Autumn House is close to Cambridge footy ground and a lovely walk ( 45 minutes) by the river into the city. Also on a super bus route. Parking direct outside is such a bonus. Rooms spotless unsure how the cleaner does such a good job. Coffee/tea and biscuits provided. Breakfast is yogurts/cereal and toast. The highlight is Al. He greets you at the door. Al provides a map and information as he knows his city so well. Lovely to talk to. Made us feel so welcome. 5 stars from us for sure !

If we had to be hyper critical, the road outside was noisy until about 10 pm when it became quiet and we slept well.
Immaculately clean, warm and very well presented. A 10 minute is ride into the city centre. Bus stop a few minutes walk away. The host, Al couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. A handful of local eateries - we ate Thai at a local pub called ‘ The Wrestler’ it was excellent. Very comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities. Will certainly stay here again.

There was nothing I did not like
Complimentary breakfast was great, as was the use of the fridge and being able to eat at a table with a takeaway. Cannot fault the Guest house it was brilliant good parking space to leave car and go into Cambridge on Bus - good bus service. lots of useful Information given by Al

Very welcoming with a detailed explanation of the facilities and the rules. The bedroom and ensuite were very clean and in good decorative order. It was nice to have access to a well equipped kitchen and off road parking.

The host, Al, was extremely helpful, and the local map tailor-made for Autumn House was excellent. The room was extremely comfortable and very clean. Excellent value for money. And it was easy to park! We loved the walk along the river into Cambridge.

Very clean and tidy and comfortable room. Light breakfast included and coffee and tea in room. Location a little out of town but a good walk or a bus service to central Cambridge was no problem. Friendly and helpful owner. Parking by the door!
