Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThat we could not stay longer.
I am not given to hyperbole, but our stay (two rooms) was superb. Anne, our host, was gracious, friendly and made a mean breakfast. Directions were great and led us to a warm, well-appointed farm house in an entirely beautiful location.

United KingdomA treat to have duck eggs for breakfast. Breakfast was perfect down to the chill tray where the milk and fruit juices were. Our hostess was relaxed, friendly and welcoming. Beautiful marmalade and jam for our toast. The farm is set in beautiful countryside with a pond and ducks outside our bedroom window. We would definitely recommend this B & B and hope to return ourselves. Thank you.

United KingdomThe room is very comfortable with a full size bathroom en suite. There is a pond with lots of ducks which provide eggs for breakfast if you desire one. It is very picturesque. It has easy access to the Fife coastal villages, Anstruther and St Andrews, by car.
The farmhouse is extremely clean an comfortable. The room was immaculate and we were given a flask of milk on arrival for tea/coffee which was a nice touch. It is in a picturesque setting, a working but immaculate farm. The hostess is warm and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay

A lovely property in a beautiful location. Anne, the host, is a wonderful, friendly, helpful person. The breakfast was exceptional with delicious duck eggs and the best marmalade I have probably ever tasted. Room was everything I needed and I would highly recommend staying there. Will definitely try to book here again when next in this area. Also, incredible value for money!

United KingdomIf I had to be critical, I would mention the fact that the bedroom had no locks, the loose bolt would sometimes release the main bedroom door which may invade your privacy. This, in the first impression, did make me a little uneasy, considering I didn't know the property size, capacity, owner that well, at the start. There is no key provided to your bedroom because there is no way to lock it. So, you may think if it's safe to leave your belongings in the room which has no way of securing a lock. Having said that, Anne explained to us that this place only has 2 bedrooms for their guests/lodgers, so at one time, you will not have more than 2 families/guests living in this place. There are no hooks behind the bathroom doors to hang clothes. The front door remains open until midnight, again no lock/key provided to the guests. However, we did not stay later than 12 midnight so it was no problem for us. There is no restaurant/cafe close to this as it is in the middle of a farm, so ensure you are stacked up before returning to the B&B - it is a single track road like any farmland area so driving for food may be challenging for some in the winter/foggy months, or in the dark.
The lady who mainly runs the B&B, called Anne, is amazing from Day 1 that it is hard not to like something about this place. The place is quiet, breakfast was freshly made everyday, with eggs from their own farm ducks. This B&B is in the middle of a farm, overlooking a tiny farm hill on one side and a pond with ducks on the other. The view from the bedroom can easily inspire the poet in you. Anne leave cookies, coffee, milk and sugar very generously in your room everyday, fill water for you, making the stay more pleasant. There is green farm land surrounding this place for miles making it perfect for someone looking for peace and quiet. We wanted to stay closer to St. Andrews for daily commute so this worked out really well as it was the only budget and good place within a 10miles drive from St Andrews. There is enough parking space for your car which is free and safe. They provide toiletry for your bath. The toilet had both shower as well as a bath. The couple that runs the place lives in this property and their main entrance door is open until 12 midnight which makes it easier for a late check in. The charging socket cubes were very helpful in their rooms if you have more than two gadgets to charge at once, which was in our case.

Fantastic breakfast, plenty of choice, and really nice to have fresh duck eggs available. The hosts were very helpful. The location is great, really quiet, the only noise being the ducks! Well placed for Edinburgh, St Andrews, Perth and Dundee.
