This hotel represents great value for money in a convenient location near the Isle of Skye. It offered everything we needed to refresh and rest before more adventures. A bar and restaurant added to the welcoming feel and we liked the young staff’s enthusiastic to make us feel at home.

AustraliaSeveral zones of the fire alarm panel were isolated - meaning if a fire occurred the fire brigade would not be automatically notified. Despite having a TV, there were no channels or streaming services to watch - reportedly too expensive for the hotel to purchase.

United KingdomDisliked the way bfast buffet laid out. Had to wait to actually boil a domestic kettle to make a cup of tea, I was in a queue for this so took a while. There was a vacuum flask with tea in but it was soo strong & tasted awful, had to make my own. Then the toaster was at back of buffet table on top of another piece of equipment. I'm only 5ft 3ins & had to stand on tiptoe & lean over the pastries to reach the toaster. It wasn't easy!! That said there was a good selection of food. Had trouble with TV, couldn't get terrestrial tv, gave up & managed to get Netflix, even if instructions were in French!!
Good size room & shower room. Very tasty dinner. Lovely decor throughout. Great location for Isle of Skye. Lots of choice at bfast. Staff efficient & friendly. Had car park. Fantastic view over the Loch. Very clean.

United KingdomOne minor inconvenience was that there seems to be consistent tour buses that use The Balmacara as their hotel and it can get rather noisy in the evenings and busy in the mornings for breakfast. The price is a tad bit more than it probably needs to be for hat you’re getting. The internet is very choppy for things that require live service (I.e. FaceTime, Zoom, gaming, etc) but works great for Netflix and streaming services.
Beautiful hotel with a lot of history. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The restaurant connected to the hotel was delicious and the waiters/waitresses were extremely polite and helpful.

IsraelSmall room for such a high rate. Breakfast was soooo slow we couldn’t enjoy it due to the long que of a large group, we didn’t want to waist our time standing in line for cereals. Other meal options required even longer wait for waitresses etc. We preferred to leave without breakfast and start hiking but it was annoying and time waisting to wait for that.
