Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI didn't like they breakfast options they had and the kitchen is very cramped, but other than that I have no complaints.
The room was comfortable and clean, the lockers have a safe to store your valuables, the hostel is well located with the Earls Court underground station just 6 minutes away, and the staff were lovely and welcoming. Overall the value for what I paid was absolutely wonderful and I would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomArriving by bicycle isn't great. The roads around Chelsea & Kensington are hostile. Parking the bicycle in the hostel also wasn't easy as you have to go down some steep steps before taking them up some steep steps to the back yard, which was actually a nice area. If you have a heavy bike, its not easy lifting it up and down steps each time! It would be cool if the hostel could secure a bicycle "bread bin" hangar from the local council, which would make life much easier for parking bicycles. I saw many of these hangars around London. They also remove car parking, so a win-win!
Staff were very helpful and always available. We really appreciated being able to leave our bags with reception after we checked out. We had a few hours to kill before our train, so it was a nice bonus. The breakfast was perfectly fine despite some negative reviews, and the beds were also very comfortable. Bathrooms were nice, and lockers were big, so I have no complaints about the rooms.

IrelandA little further from the city centre but there a metro station near by.
Very friendly and helpful staff. I got my key and code for the door as well as fresh sheets and covers for the bed. The bed was comfortable and there was a socket and USB socket by the head of the bed. The room was clean, tidy and warm. The breakfast was lovely too.

United KingdomIt's my favourite hostal in central London. Great beds. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Hot showers. Easy location. There's no social communal area but a big kitchen for breakfast & I found the people in the dormitory friendly & chatty.

United KingdomI arrived just before midnight and wasn't aware of any code number to let me in the door. If I arrive late. Had to bang on the door a few times for someone to let me in. The email was eventually sent to me after someone let me in.
Breakfast was minimal.

United KingdomNot a busy night so it was quiet, I was the only person in the tv room which had Netflix, Amazon etc.. very spacious rooms with excellent security. Breakfast was the usual tea, toast and cereal, plenty of it and in a large, well-equipped kitchen. 5 min walk from Earl's Court station.

IrelandA toilet in the room wouldve been good and a place to read (though there was a very comfy living room I didnt use it as theres a big TV in there)
The kitchen was lovely and the free tea and coffee and breakfast was brilliant. It was very quiet too which I like and I have the four bed dorm to myself for most of the stay. It is a little old fashioned but very clean and in the process of being renovated too. The pillows and mattresses are memory foam and new. There is a charging port and light at each bunk. Easy going, easy check in friendly staff and excellent location.
