Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Dawn and Steve are excellent hosts who go above and beyond. The accommodation was fantastic. We even had a guided tour around the haunted cellar and were told some of the history of the house. We would definitely stay there again.

United KingdomIf I had to say one thing it would be! we wished it had a toaster, but we now know so when we come back we can bring our own.
The location was wonderful " right by a small dog walk beach and then you can walk along the prom and it can take you to New Brighton to get the train or bus to Liverpool or Chester, or you can walk to Secombe to get the "ferry on the Mersey " to Liverpool. This little home is perfect for a few days lovely places to go fantastic places to eat, it is small, but its all you need if you are out exploring a lot. I can recommend Sea Quinn for one person and his dog or a couple, I would one hundred percent go back and I am sure we will.

This lovely hidden gem is absolutely fabulous. We were made to feel very welcome by Dawn and Steve. Everything we needed was there and as for the beach across the road - amazing. Brilliant if you have dogs as traffic is minimal and everywhere is really dog friendly. Loved it.

Lovely little annexe at the back of the house. Perfect size for our one night stay. Very comfortable, thoughtful extras added and the most perfect location for scenic walks. Our hosts Dawn and Steve were excellent, made us feel so welcome. We parked our car sat morning next to house and didn't use again till we went home. Had breakfast at Driftwood cafe (definitely recommend), got a bus into Liverpool, great value and soo much easier.

United KingdomRain shower (fixed height, with no alternative shower head). Had cutlery but no plates. Fridge small and bit too noisy by bed interrupting sleep. Lighting arrangement bit awkward also with no blind on main window for privacy. (These wouldn't stop us staying again though!)
Great location right next to the beach and long promenade. Easy parking. Very very comfy bed. Very dog-friendly, cordoned garden areas. Microwave. Easy to operate telly. Wide selection of toiletries. Vale park cafe up the promenade do great breakfasts. Easy drive into Liverpool.

United KingdomWonderful friendly hosts, very helpful and available when needed. The accommodation was excellent, very comfortable providing everything needed. The Amazing location, just steps from the fantastic Wallasey beaches and promenade, perfect level walk for miles with great views across to Liverpool and across the Irish Sea and Wales if you manage to walk far enough! Lovely walk to New Brighton including a walk through Vale Park on the way there. Will book again and have recommended to friends and family. This stay was only for a couple of nights for personal reasons, but will without doubt be going again. Thank you.

United KingdomIt was already excellent but perhaps a cafetière or coffee bags, and a pack of cards/ other simple games would make it even more delightful.
Easy to find, very welcoming. Room was warm when we arrived and facilities to make tea. Perfect blend of cosy, beautiful and practical. They thought of everything from coat pegs to plug sockets to a microwave. Was perfect for our one night stay and we would certainly come back.
