The room did need updating, dirty walls from furniture moves, dated carpet, and bathroom. Such a shame as it let down the rest of the hotel. Reception staff could of been a bit more inviting, seemed disengaged on both check in and out.

The room was freezing so I had to change rooms to a ground floor room where I was woken up by guests walking along the corridor. This could have been avoided if the bed was against a different wall

Location of the Spa & Hotel is amazing - greenery all around. Hydro Pool, Swimming Pool, Sauna and steam were amazing. Felt fully relaxed and away from stress. Good place to switch off!

I requested a ground floor room as stairs are a issue. On arrive I was given a 1st floor room which was ok as had life but the room was not appropriate it have a step down in to bathroom and a mind your head sticker as a low ceiling. Over the bath with was a obstacle for me with my mobility issues. The young lady receptionist who checked me in was a little abrupt with me asking for the ground floor room that I requested a month or more before I checked in her reply was the ground floor room are a long way from reception. I told her my issues and she said she had put me I. The nearest room on the 1st floor. This wasn’t the case as other rooms was available on that floor nearer to lift. Also having to pay By card at the bar is right as cash is still our currency so should still be accepted Breakfast wasn’t the best It wasn’t piping hot it was just warm as the provisions to keep it hot wasn’t great. Other staff was friendly and like I said the hotel is in a lovely setting. It’s a old property with quaint features.

Breakfast was very poor...rubbery mushrooms, dried up fried eggs...no tomatoes or vegetarian options. Overall the choice was limited and poorly cooked and presented. Room service trays were left outside rooms when we arrived were still there when we left the next day. Main course meal in the restaurant was disappointing. Limited choice (poor selection of vegetarian options) had the vegan and meat burgers but tasteless and more fitting for a fast food cafe.

Gym and Spa was excellent. Clean, well-maintained and not too busy with a lovely range of facilities. Coffee at breakfast was excellent. Starters for restaurant evening meal were delicious. Room was comfortable but very small and needed net curtains as overlooked the car park. Gardens were well maintained

Family pool time, 9 to 11am and 4 to 7pm. It worked well when we checked in, but on second day it was a long wait for the 4pm slot. Not a very pram friendly hotel. Not that you need a pram (unless baby can't walk), short distances to walk with toddler.

We had a very clean room. The room service was very good. The pool was amazing and the kids enjoyed it a lot. Staff was seen but not heard, everyone very polite. It was a very good hotel for our weekend break. Perfect cocktail for Mum and the sandwiches were fantastic.

There was a fowl odour as you entered reception, smelt like sewage from the adjacent toilets. Not a good first impression. Duty manager on reception wasn't very accommodating with not allowing even an extra hour for late checkout although he knew I'd arrived at 3am in the morning. So missed breakfast to try getting my full quota of sleep.

One of the best feature of the hotel is the spa facilities, highly recommended, with steam room, sauna, salt room, hydro pool etc, I could have stayed all day. Comfy bed and a quiet and good nights rest room size was larger than expected for a standard room, I will certainly return.

No conditioner in bedroom. Noise. Breakfast was poor value for money - I’ve had much better breakfasts at less expensive hotels. Tea was lukewarm. No fruit provided in room (do-called super deluxe) or breakfast. Etc etc.

Orchids in room. The garden. Helpful staff dealing with complaint about noisy room and no way to firmly close window.

Limited pool access for kids, who are only allowed in between 9-11am and 4-7pm. Under 16s can't use the outdoor thermal pool or spa facilities, which is disappointing.
