Room needed updating , flush didn’t work and water pressure too low . Had to take cistern lid off to keep filling up with water to flush toilet, very dissatisfied.

Friendly staff, lovely setting , clean and tidy .

In the morning I didn't have any hot water in the bathroom. It wasn't the end of the world for me but it was an annoyance. I did let reception know about it when I checked out though.

Really good size room, comfortable bed. Really good location, nice and quiet. Staff were polite and friendly.

Bed and pillows not great (mattress uncomfy). Shower was over/in the bath, which was narrow and the bathroom was quite old and shabby but overall clean and the shower head powerful.

Family room was good for space with a dog. Surrounding lawns to walk dog were good. Room comfortably warm with controllable radiator.

The water pressure is so low, a trickle for a shower and toilet won’t flush for ages!

Nothing to not like. Being picky, the decor is a little tired, but we assumed that it went with it being run as a budget chain - we don't expect country house hotel levels of paintwork from a Mecure.

Spacious, beautiful setting, very helpful staff The core needs of a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and a great breakfast buffet were all met 100% .

Conference room used for Wedding and Reception exceptional - hot water and paint required.

No hot water in shower which seemed to be an ongoing complaint with the guests. Hotel looking a bit tired could do with a lick of paint . Could have done with extra staff on the Friday night as there was an event going on with hardly any staff in the conservatory bar and definitely needed more on the Saturday for wedding and bit inbetween ceremony and reception when everyone wanted a drink.

Stayed there for sons wedding. The main thing that mattered was that the room used for both the wedding ceremony and the reception was lovely - no issues there.

We had a meal in the bar and my Caesar salad was awful, the mayonnaise dressing tasted like vinegar , we also asked the barman the end of the meal if they had camomile tea to which he said he would go and check and half an hour later I went to ask again and he said no they haven’t got any, when we went for breakfast we found that there was some next to the coffee machine. At breakfast I asked for butter and there wasn’t any. There were very few residents staying so surely these very minor details should have been addressed. On top of this there was No hot water for showering etc.

    Lovely location

The hotel does look a little tired. The floor boards in our 1st floor room and in the corridor outside our room were so noisy. I woke up every time someone passed our room or my husband got up to use the bathroom . . . .and if the floorboards didn't wake you, the fan in the bathroom absolutely would! Water took a long time to get hot. There was a bulb missing in one of the bedside lamps.

Staff were friendly. Room was a good size. Hotel is set in beautiful grounds. Good selection of vegetarian and vegan options on lunch menu (although very limited at breakfast?) The hotel is very pet friendly.

It was £15 per night per dog which was the most expensive I have ever had on my travels and the accommodation was just tired, the menu was not great and was expensive for what it was and it just didn’t seem that clean with cigarette ends in the outdoor soaces

Out of town location and large grounds for the dogs to run around in
