Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The East Cliff looked very old and tired so we were pleased it was closed and we got upgraded to a room at sister hotel Carlton next door where we had a big room with sea view.

We were only there one night so didn't spend that much time in the hotel. We did like the look of the outdoor pool, that with how nice everything seemed and a good breakfast, has made us want to come back in warmer months for a few days.

United KingdomThe fact that for breakfast we had to walk to the other hotel. Also, getting to our rooms in the back side of the hotel was not quite straightforward and we had to find our way through couple of doors and corridors.
We like its location though we didn't have sea view rooms. Its breakfast (which was served in their neighbouring sister hotel) was good and satisfying. The main problem was 2-3 minutes walking distance through hotel car park. My family enjoyed swimming in nearby sister hotel too. It was not noisy and we had a comfortable stay after all.

United Kingdomwe started off at the East cliff but had to walk to the neighbouring hotel for food. We had our 93yr old mother with us and this was too far for her to walk, even though it was just across the carpark it took her 20 minutes wi5 her walker as there were a lot of stairs. We asked to be moved to the Carleton which they did. I am gluten free and rather than advise me what I would be safe to eat I was given their allergy list which I had to look through to see what I could have.
It was close to where we wanted to be. The staff were very pleasant especially the receptionist at the Carleton who really helped.

United KingdomUnbeknown to me, the Hotel was due to close down for the winter months the week after I left. Therefore there was no restaurant/food available there, nor was the bar open. All facilities could be found and used at their sister hotel next door (Carlton), but its not the same.......
Room was big, well furnished, and spotlessly clean. It is situated on the Eastcliff, with the Zigzag path just up the road which leads directly onto the beach. Steep descent, but an easier climb back up if you wander up the beach and return via the road.

United KingdomThe room was dark facing the fire escape staircase. To my horror, there were noisy guests until 2am in the morning on the Saturday night and I hardly slept. When I raised this with the receptionist, she said no one else heard anything and she will tell the night guard. This doesn’t help me after a week of being totally exhausted as my daughter had to be taken to A&E four times. This was meant to be a relaxing weekend. I feel exhausted and it ruined our Sunday as we were tired to do anything after a sleepless night.
We liked the spa and breakfast was good.

United KingdomI paid for an executive double but it wasn't what I was expecting from the photos shown on Booking.com. I was expecting a larger room, instead it looked like a regular double. The room was a little dusty and there were cobwebs on the appliances by the desk. The balcony was also full of cobwebs.
Breakfast at the "sister" hotel was very good. A large choice of breakfast and everything tasted delicious. The location was really good and the view from the room was amazing.
