A lovely few days stay in Manchester, UK. Great city, I will be back again !
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Double Room (No Windows)
    • Stayed 2 nights

When we arrived, reception stated that the room did not have any windows, I thought it would be OK without, however when we arrived back to the room in the evening time, it was like a sweat box, reception said that this was because the heating was left on in the room, I didn't turn on the heating !! so they did ? I had to pay an extra £20 for a room upgrade with a window as we could not stick the heat in the room. The second evening there was nobody attending the bar, there was 3 receptionists chatting across the way at reception, I approached them and asked if could they get me a glass of ice for the room from the bar, they would not, they said to wait until the bar person came back, so we sat and waited, 20 minutes later no sign of the bar person yet, I asked them would they walk behind the bar and get me a glass of ice, they still would not and was told to wait for the bar person. the bar person arrived 30 minutes later and provided us with a glass of ice for the room. The level of service was disgraceful, considering the receptionists were doing nothing but chatting with each other. It does not give me a good opinion of Britannia hotels.

The location of the hotel was great, just off Piccadilly Gardens. Very central.

Very nice, friendly and convenient. Just make sure to book a room with a window if you don’t want to burn alive.

The lift made me very uneasy, very old and creaky. The room we stayed in did not have a window (we chose this option as it was cheaper), however the aircon didn’t work and there was only one small fan. The heat in the room was unbearable through the night and we had to sleep with wet towels as blankets to keep us cool through the night.

The location was ideal for getting everywhere in the city centre. The staff were very friendly and the lobby was nice and clean and tidy.

It was too hot. Our triple room was soo hot that we couldn’t sleep and left early as a result of wanting to cool down Staff carried on a conversation between themselves about getting to work rather than speaking to us as well left

Location was perfect for my needs

My room) with no windows) got very hot and stuffy. A fan is provided by the hotel in every room but it did not help much because no fresh air could get into the room. The air conditioner wasn't working or it was too complicated for me to operate.

The hotel is quite nice inside and the staff are efficient and often very pleasant. I didn't experience noise inside the room.

No free WiFi and having to pay extra for a window though I was able to upgrade my room for £10.

Great Central location. Felt safe. Clean comfortable room. Friendly staff. Affordable price. I don't understand why this place gets such poor reviews - it's really pretty good considering the typically low price.

Staff not really interactive and building work starting before 8 am on the bank holiday Monday. If was made aware there was building work happening and they were starting so early, we would have stayed somewhere else

The hotel didn’t have free wifi which was disappointing because every hotel has wifi for their guests.

I loved the location of the place. It was right in the city center so everything was super accessible, which was perfect for me since I was solo traveling for the first time. Plus, the staffs when I was checking in were an absolute delight. The duty manager helped me check in early, told me where to go about sightseeing, and he lended me a charger (which is a small thing to do but it really helped).
