it's a nice hotel in incredible quiet location at base of the Wrekin Staff are lovely and it's a very comfortable traditional hotel The chef is superb and evening dinner has been fantastic every time

Food portions small against the cost. Reception not always staffed and no bell to call them. Bath is quite small so the shower curtain sticks to you when showering

Rather tired bedroom, bathroom door handles very loose and not working, and no barrel to even hold door closed. Unkept balcony full of cobwebs and moss.

Nice comfy and stylish bar area. Staff were all lovely. Good breakfast for the price.

The lift wasn't working but nobody told us. Also the breakfast wasn't very hot. Bacon could do with a bit more cooking. Little things could do with fixing, screws sticking out of bath panel, not very well finished off decoratively. Little bit more money spent would make a huge difference. Plus they could do with breakfast being a little but longer.

Room could use an upgrade as very dated. The WiFi did not work properly at all and this is essential for us as a family with a child with asd that relies on the Internet to ground him.

Breakfast was lovely and tasty and the staff were helpful. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean and in good working order. Reception area beautiful and grounds lovely.

Some staff were not as friendly, welcoming and helpful as would expect. Cost of drinks was higher than expected.

The hair dryer didn't work. There was no wifi.

Cashless bar, poor Wi-Fi connection and card payment’s struggled. Breakfast was lukewarm. Eggs dried up. Had to call someone over to ask for teas and coffee when I counted 6 staff in restaurant

Toilet didn’t flush properly and I slipped and got stuck in the bath due to not having a non slip service in bath Some of the staff need lessons on customer service and professioalism

Be wary of steps all over but there is a lift. I upgraded room on booking dot com BUT the room given didn't feel no different to previous booked :-( A friend dropped out at last minute. Either booking dot com way to make more money or hotel? Who knows. Just a.bit miffed.

Been before and would yes again for local comicon convention. Rooms are located everywhere.

The hotel was a perfect location for walking up the Wrekin and also a nature reserve opposite. The room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the cooked buffet breakfast. The staff were very polite and helpful.

What I did not like was the taxi service. Charged double fair even though we phoned at 11.20. We were not told that when ringing for taxi plus it was not after 12 at night. That us the only disappointment. Which has no reflection on hotel.

Nice breakfast. Staff very nice. Clean room. Staff very welcoming on reception. Happy to stay again in the future.

Room was not as clean as normal previous guest had left us something in the wardrobe that was missed when cleaning the room. My 3rd stay at this hotel this year and may not return again
