We experienced a couple of minor niggles - with the TV and the catch on the bathroom door but these were quickly sorted by the hotel and did not in any way detract from our stay.

Our room was much larger than we had expected and very nicely appointed in a "traditional" way with nice touches like the bottles of water and Nespresso coffee machine as well as traditional tea making facilities. The Bed was particularly comfortable and the room temperature ideal - unlike many hotels where it is too hot and not easily controlled. Breakfast selection was ideal for our preferences. On top of this, the location on New Street is unbeatable - with such easy, almost direct, access to New Street railway station and all of Central Birmingham

Couldn't open window and was draughty and very cold. All radiators were turned off and didn't realise until the next morning. They were on an electric switch and took ages to warm up

TV wasn't properly tuned and had very limited channels, coffee machine only make expresso sized coffees, changing the temperature in the room made no difference to the room temp. Was too hot.

Location is great, right in the middle of all the action. Room was spacious and functional.

Only issue we had was we paid for a superior room, and the king bed was 2x singles pushed together , the bed in the middle really dipped inwards

Entering the reception area in a wheelchair is very difficult. The doors are manual, there's no buzzer to ask for assistance and it's not very often you come across this difficulty in corporate hotels.

Unfortunately, we had a couple arguing through the night next door and could hear them word for word as the walls were paper thin, this went on until 2am. The heating fan in the room kept me and my son awake most of the night as starts up every 15 mins. I ordered room service which cost a lot of money for what it was and was inedible, I won’t make that mistake again but I was really disappointed. Breakfast was beautiful as always, however I was given a cup left over from another table which had lipstick on it !! The waitress also gave me a left over milk jug that had been left and already used from another table, this is disgraceful! I don’t expect this from a 4 star hotel. Hopefully this was a one off as I love staying here and so do my children.
