I didn’t like the idea of being charged £2 extra because I wanted pineapple rings instead of 2 eggs with gammon. I chose something else instead. I didn’t like the idea of being charged extra for a drop of extra gravy I wanted on my chicken. Thought it was greedy

Personal choice - the shower could be upgraded to a power shower.

Comfortable bed, very clean room, plenty of tea/coffee/milk, hairdryer provided. Ground floor and quiet, ideal for me, even though the hotel was busy. Plenty of car parking space. Beautiful grounds, well maintained. Reception welcoming and helpful. Looks like the venue has been decorated, very nicely done. Lovely bar meal, attentive, friendly staff. Enjoyed my evening meal in the restaurant, again attentive, welcoming staff. Help-yourself breakfast, plenty of food. Helpful, attentive, friendly yet professional staff. As a lone visitor, I felt comfortable and the staff were lovely and friendly.

The room furniture was not dated or tatty but could do with being more contemporary and modern. The pillows were feather filled being asthmatic and allergic to feathers i asked at reception to change them for non featherd and was changed straight away.

The rooms are nice not as posh as i thought they might be, the bathroom space is excellent modern and fresh. The staff were fantastic and made our stay a pleasure.

All the floors creak and make a lot of noise when the people above you are walking about. Small rooms.

Only 2 disabled parking spaces.

Hotel is deceiving..looks lovely from outside..inside a bit dormitory like..a training facility in its former life. Lacks character but perfectly serviceable. Over priced bar. Mark up for wine was unacceptable. £5 bottles selling at £30!

Quite nice. Functional. Restaurant fair. Overpriced drinks and wine. Breakfast good. Never had what appeared to be knitted sausages before so that was novel. Great spot to tour around. And fantastic raptor sanctuary right next door. Amazing birds and falconers. Great Indian restaurant just a mile or so up the road.

My Fad had the fish: The batter was poor and left the fish soggy. I had the onion rings, the batter was equally as poor. The pork belly was overcooked. My room "could" do with an update, but looked as if this was ongoing on other floors.

Other than the evening meal. Everything was lovely. We had a great time thankyou very much.

A quieter evening dining environment would have been more pleasurable.

The staff were very attentive and helpful, especially at mealtimes. The breakfast was good, but we found the restaurant a little noisy for our taste when dining in the evening. The location, although a little out on a limb, was ideal for where I needed to get to, but for York, I would have chosen something nearer.

It was quite dated and felt old fashioned. Rooms felt more like student accommodation. Food and drinks very expensive. Strange atmosphere in restaurant I can’t put my finger on - music was really loud!!

The food was tasty even though on the pricey side. Good location for a work trip
