How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Precipitous driveway (not a problem in a car, slightly nervy on a motorbike); only one place to eat (but it is perfect).
Easy location for the ferry; very welcoming hosts; restaurant a few doors away; sea view; rear view of rabbits and ducks!; breakfast.

Owner rang local pub for us to see if open. Close to Cairnryan - Larne ferry. Very clean room, very friendly owner, good breakfast that kept us going until we reached our destination.

Absolutely nothing to dislike!
The location, the easy to find the place, so friendly and helpful pat and bill, the little touches in the room, breakfast (dont miss the haggis). Its perfect. Definetely we will stop again when we are in the area!

It had an excellent homely feel with facilities to match, a comfortable bed, and the ensuite was spotlessly clean, with a nice touch with the bedside refreshments. We would stay again when traveling to Northern Ireland I Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Pat was extremely friendly and helpful. Room had everything we required and more(sherry in a decanter). Fantastic nights sleep,so quiet. Knowledgeable about where to go for dinner. Gave us bananas and satsumas for the ferry.

We stayed here for one night prior to taking the ferry to Larne the next morning. Our hosts were very communicative and friendly before we arrived, booking us dinner at a nearby local pub so we would have somewhere to go for our evening meal. Lots of thoughtful touches in the room, it was very clean and comfortable, you can tell the owners really care. We would definitely stay here again.

Can’t think of anything
Very nice and clean lodging with a beautiful view. Pat and Bill are excellent hosts and they are very helpful and accommodating. From the original booking 5 months ago, keeping in touch in the months leading up to our trip, picking us up at the ferry and dropping us off to catch our bus the next morning, they made sure that we were looked after. And we can’t forget about the delicious Scottish breakfast in the morning! We would definitely recommend the Cairnryan B & B. 🇨🇦🏴

Pat was extremely welcoming , friendly. and we felt very much at ease. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. Pat provides some extra touches that make a stay in Cairnryan B&B special.

Our stay at the Cairnryan Bed and Breakfast was absolutely fantastic! Pat and Bill, the hosts, are very warm and welcoming. They went out of there way to make sure we had a wonderful visit. They both were very helpful in sharing extensive local knowledge regarding the area. The Breakfasts were incredible-- everything was fresh and delicious, and you have a lovely view of the bay from the dining room window. If you are passing through from Ireland or planning to stay for a few days to enjoy the beautiful South Scotland country side, I highly recommend the Cairnryan Bed and Breakfast as a place to stay,

Nothing could be better
An amazing B&B. Pat was marvellous, friendly and welcoming. We arrived in the middle of a rain storm and Pat was out with and umbrella for my wife to shelter under. Excellent room even including a wee dram for us. Breakfast was out of this world. The duck eggs were so very tasty and even the haggis was tasty. We were kindly offered some eggs to take home with us. probably one of the best B&B's in Scotland.

The bed and breakfast itself and the owner was Absolutely amazing. She was Extremely accommodating, very friendly from the get go, communication was outstanding. The Owner went above and beyond for us. Absolutely recommend staying here.
