    Nothing.

I needed to be away early and Margaret was more than happy to accommodate with an early breakfast. The room had spectacular views both up and down the river. Easy walking to town where there are any number of restaurants - I had a fabulous Indian meal in the centre of town at Amrans. Lots of car parking at the property.

Tracey was amazing. She is a gem. Catered to all our needs and was so warm and friendly. She also posted back a charger to us at her own expense. The building and surroundings were gorgeous. We will be back. Great breakfast and views were fantastic x

    I can't think of a thing

The room was comfortable, the view unmatched. The hosts and staff made me feel like family. The location relative to the train station was a plus for someone without a car. I could not have been more delighted with my time at Castle Vale House. I'd recommend it to everyone and would love to return.

In case people are worried about the proximity to the bridge, even in the still of night, the sound of the trains are only a very low rumble, which I found pleasant.

We chose this house for its proximity to the areas we wished to explore. The charming old house is set in attractive grounds, high above the River Tweed, beside a Victorian styled railway bridge. We enjoyed walking along the river in to town. The home is quaintly furnished and I was delighted that the door to our room was behind a hidden panel. Our room was well provided, with a large comfortable bed and storage areas. We appreciated the heaters, due to the wet conditions. The bathroom was a little cramped, but the shower was hot. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room, and was delicious. Our host, Margaret was a charming and knowledgeable lady.

Room 5 would benefit from some blackout curtains as very bright early in the morning.

It was our first experience of pre-ordering breakfast, but we managed and it worked well. The shared table in the dining room is another thing I find a bit awkward but other guests were very friendly and sociable which made it easier than my previous experience of this. Please add a list of prices on the landing for the snacks. We never buy single crisps packets or chocolate bars and so it was difficult to know quite what to leave in the honesty jar. (The snacks are such a lovely idea.)

We had the perfect room in this very unusual property - wonderful views of the viaduct, bridges and river. We have no idea how they manage to keep such a wonderfully eccentric space so very clean - the books, pictures, bric-a-brac. It's amazing. We loved it. The owners could not have been kinder or more helpful and we would very definitely stay there again. The property is also perfectly placed for the station and for buses and also for walking into town, round the walls or along the river. An excellent choice for breakfast and the porridge was super. We also appreciated the snacks available on the landing - such a good idea.
