Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe heat in room was unbearable…17th of may so not mid summer heat!! Maybe put bars over windows so windows can be opened fully if it’s a hot room which I’m guessing with the fan already being in room it’s an on going problem!…In the warmer months anyway! Windows have security locks so can not open very much due to being on the top floor!
I would give more stars but the room was soooo hot, unbearable hot!! 17th of May so not mid summer heat, windows open as much as we could due to security locks and a fan was supplied in room already so I’m guessing it’s a regular problem room 403 we stayed in, because of this I’d worry booking again, we got in at 2am and left at 6;30am as couldn’t take it, we went for a few drinks and would have loved a lay in with no children so was disappointed but otherwise can not complain, good sized room, clean, kettle with tea and coffee supplied with spares down stairs by reception.

United KingdomBooking in at reception took a long time. The lift for the guests to use was not working on either Saturday or Sunday. We were not offered help with our luggage to the third floor. The staff lift was made available but it was very small, with two doors that were difficult to manage while also carrying suitcases. The black, metal inner lift door was very heavy and difficult to manoeuvre while entering & exiting the lift. The staff area to gain access to the staff lift was dirty and full of rubbish. There was no help from the staff. Our room faced SW so it had a good deal of sunshine but no ventilation or air-conditioning, which on the first hot day of the year 23C -25c was unbearable. AND the radiator was on in the bathroom. We made numerous attempts to contact reception but they never responded.
Great location. Breakfast was very good with a range of choices for cooked and continental breakfasts.

United KingdomNo sockets near the beds. No room refresh during staff, although we did get one in the end. Apparently you have to go to reception and ask for towels and toilet roll but there was no sign to say this. No mention that there would be very loud music from the bandstand opposite nearly every night. Room windows were old and rotting compounding the noise problem. The lift broke down for 3 days and there were no signs on each floor to say this.we were told to use the staff lift and then some rude member of staff stuck a sign on the door saying staff only. The next day we were told the water was going off 10:00 till 16:00
Nice large room, great sea view. Big bathroom. Some of the staff were friendly. This is a budget Brittania hotel, despite it's appearance and I think most seasoned travellers have a Britannia story

United KingdomThe floor in the corridors, common area, outside the rooms was very dirty- chewing gums, mud, they don’t hoover the common areas at all Check out at 10 am- the earliest check out ever! And check in at 4 pm, the latest check in ever! Normally should be 2 pm check in and 12 pm check out They don’t clean rooms when you stay in between your stay, so when you arrive you room is initially clean and then they don’t do cleaning when you stay already There is no Do not disturb signs On our floor there was Weed smell - someone was smoking weed in their room and we could smell it The breakfast doesn’t have any pancakes or waffles, and there was only one croissant left one hour before breakfast ends There is no hotel parking
Amazing location We had a room with sea view- great view and big windows, we heard the sea at night , was great! We travelled with a dog, the room was clean and big for the dog Full English breakfast was great! Nice mushrooms

United KingdomExtremely dirt glass windows around the bar area with lots of finger print in there. Extremely dirt Lift area with mirrors, doors and floor horrible dirt. The front stairs of the Hotel was extremely dirt. The problem in this Hotel seems to be that The Management doesn't want to invest in proper cleaning inside the rooms and the outside areas. It's a shame because The Hotel is beautiful with a wonderful cross the road sea view...
Good staff always ready to help and with a smile. Very good breakfast and very good dinner served on time daily. Breakfast and dinner buffet style. I requested a bath on my room and I had the best Bath possible and imaginable. Was wonderful and I am very grateful for it!!! Very good location to the Town and beautiful view of the sea across the road.
