How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Expensive for basic rooms. £520 for 2 nights was extortionate. Also don’t waste money on the breakfast, worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. The sausages were either veggie or made of cardboard. Although no signs anywhere to say they were veggie. No options for meat, no bacon either. The only good part was the waffle machine. Wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately
Great location and the free coffee machine in the hotel reception is a nice touch

The fridge door has a very low sustainer. This meant that when we put a bottle of wine into the door shelf and opened the door later, the wine bottle fell straight onto the floor and smashed on the tiles... took us an hour to clean up and remove all of the bits of glass which had travelled across quite a wide area across the room. Waste of a good bottle of wine too:(

The bed and pillows were not the comfiest as well as the room felt quite warm even with the air-con on.

The decor was fine, but a little tired. Lifts can be slow in the morning rush so it's worthwhile leaving a little extra time.
Excellent location, just off of Trafalgar Square. Nice spacious room with huge, comfortable bed. Useful to have a kitchenette to make tea, etc.

As with many places, the pictures did not match the place exactly, but the room pictures were particularly disappointing. The windows were high, and while they provided light, we could only see the sky.
The best part about this hotel is the location and the staff. It's very easy walking distance to top sights in London. The staff were always friendly and helpful. They quickly mailed something I left behind, and it was reasonably priced considering it was international shipping.

Facilities definitely need some update, as you can see the signs of wear and tear everywhere. Cleaning can be improved, it was quite dusty in the room already on the day of check in. There was some construction going on with loud noise from about 10-17.00 which we didn’t know about beforehand. They said it would last for 2 weeks, so until about April 11. At night it didn’t disturb us. There was no view at all from our room, though it was promised in the booking.
Size of the studio was quite good. Beds were comfortable. Location is amazing.

Room very tired and dusty, air con very noisy all night, even turned off.

The bathroom cupboard was in need of replacing.and the top of the toilet Waa discoloured which is not a good look.
Excellent location. Apartment had everything I needed.and staff were very helpful. My apartment overlooked a lovely tree and buses outside.

The staircase in the 2 bedroom suite was dangerous for children and would be troublesome for people with mobility issues. Water got very hot quickly (too hot), there was a big step down from the tub- too large for kids to do on their own and anyone with bad knees would have trouble.
Very nice location, very convenient to a lot of the big touristy areas and tube. The coffee machines were nice too. Staff was very nice and the luggage storage was convenient

Price/value of Breakfast could be better. I think it was overpriced. A suggestion for improvement: Change the toilet flush from a traditional lever to a push button flush. It helps to reduce water consumption, is easier to use and looks more contemporary.
Great Location. We could walk to Trafalgar Square, London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace... Friendly and helpful staff.
