Outstanding breakfast - best I have had. Hogmanay extra welcome with sherry!

My partner and I had an amazing 3 night stay at the Claymore between Christmas and New Year. We booked the superior king room, it was spacious, cosy and spotlessly clean.The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom enormous with both a rainfall shower and separate large bath. The cooked breakfast was delicious! The service was timely due to ordering breakfast the previous day. Excellent selection of breakfast starters including porridge, cereals and fruit. Staff regularly topped up coffee throughout breakfast, this was a nice touch. Breakfast was served in the conservatory with beautiful views.The Claymore is in an excellent location, very quiet, peaceful and a very short (1 minute) walk to the shops, restaurants and cafes in Pitlochry. Gordon is a great host and knowledgeable about the area. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to staying again.

I have an electric car and ability to charge at the hotel would have been very useful. I'm sure this will be more of a concern in the future. Happy to pay for charge obviously but it would have meant not having to mess around in the evenings to find a charger. A 7Kw would have been adequate with ability to charge overnight to minimise stress on the hotel power feed

In general terms there was not much to dislike, except for one incident that the boss will remember! He did apologise and it was a genuine error so no more to say. The rain, but there's not much any of us could do about that.

In general our stay was enjoyable. Breakfast was good in the nice light and airey conservatory. All clean and tidy. Close to all amenties in Pitlochry including the theatre (15 min walk) Although to be truthful nowhere in Pitlochry is far from anywhere else. The 'pub' two doors down was very good. Besides the rain deterred us from venturing much further.

There was a mix up in the booking in that our dog not permitted in the room I had booked which I suspect was a glitch in the Travago/Booking.com websites. Our host however saved the day as there was chalet type accommodation to the rear of the hotel where our dog could also stay. This was slightly more expensive but in the end a better deal all round.

Excellent location, staff, room and grounds with a substantial breakfast offering.

The establishment would benefit from some design touches. Seemingly during the waves of commercial renovations the house has lost its character and interior proportions one may expect from observing its glorious exterior. A small lounge where the guests may enjoy a dram of whisky by the fire will be appreciated in this category as well.

Was very pleased with our stay. Only fireworks marred one night.

We were able to hear fireworks, which we had hoped to avoid. We did very much enjoy our stay apart from.that.

Bed was a little hard for my liking, but that’s a personal preference, little snack space (kitchen) but otherwise amazing!

Wonderful location with fantastic scenery, the staff were outstanding and hugely friendly and more than catering, the facilities and room were way above expectation, somewhat on the more expensive side but this is understandable due to the quality, would be nice to have a little more in regard to amenities, kitchen fridge space but apart from this outstanding! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a romantic weekend away! Beautiful place!
