The fact that restaurant was labelled open until 10pm, but was rushed on arrival 7:15pm and was told kitchen closing at 08:00pm. Don’t have much chance to relax and freshen up from a 4.5 hour drive

    Clean and friendly atmosphere.

No carpet in bedroom, making room feel cold and unwelcoming rather sparse furnishing. Breakfast was not very good, hot items had been sitting there for some time, and had dried. Plates/dishes on the table are not cleared until you leave making the table crowded with used dishes. Only 1 staff member on duty.

Clean room, good bedding, bathroom In good condition.

Breakfast - disappointing considering 4* hotel. Mediocre (at best) cold selection and hot food where supply/demand were not met. Sachets of cheap sauce…would expect branded in 4* Dinner - menu looks cheap and tacky but don’t be fooled, the food is great Bathroom - definitely not the same standard as 4 poster room. Tired, cracked floor tiles, grout missing…and hair that wasn’t ours Sockets - not enough in room Lamps - half didn’t work or weren’t plugged in

Room - nice layout, some quality furniture (some that didn’t make sense) Public areas - clean and bright Restaurant - evening mean fabulous

Perfectly fine but could probably do with a bit of updating here and there.

Swimming pool was included within the room rate, and looked very pleasant. The spa had a cafe area and seemed comfortable. Staff were friendly.

I feel that a grab rail of some sort would be useful at the back of the bath which is higher than usual - maybe for drainage reasons? I stepped in it to use the shower, but slipped straightaway and smashed my head on the tiled wall. I sustained a mild head injury with concussion. So, either a grab handle or a longer bath mat would stop that happening.

It was easy to find, clean, staff exceptionally helpful.

The room wasn’t particularly clean, there were a few bugs in the bathroom and around the tea/coffee area. The room just felt a bit dingy for a ‘superior’ double room. The fan for the bathroom was clearly broken and made a terribly loud noise when the light was switched on. The breakfast was really disappointing, we arrived in the dining room around 9.15am and there was barely any food left, the pastries were overdone, there was no coffee/tea or juice readily available, we had to wait for this to be brought out. We waited for bacon to come out and when it did eventually come out it was undercooked, smelt funny and was basically inedible.

The beds were really comfy, it was in the perfect location for a wedding we were attending.

Rooms and facilities were a bit run down, some of the room could have been cleaner (mug stains on the side tables in the room that hadn’t been cleaned - although bathroom was good). For a superior room the bed was small and the room only had basic stuff like a kettle and a tv in it.

Hotel is a bit dated and needs some renovation but was fine. Staff were lovely, helpful and responsive. Room a decent size. We booked a ‘superior’ one. It’s much more of a 3 star experience than a 4 star one though, as it lacked the luxury element one would expect at a 4 star.

It was not a 4* by any means simple things like no plug sockets next to the bed no phone in the room and quite dated overall compared to the photos . There was a fire alarm during one of the nights completely disorganised no one came to get us out our rooms so we didn't know if it was real and couldn't get hold of anyone no compensation offered as a result

The only problem we had was with breakfast. We arrived for breakfast at 8.50 and the poor lone waitress was rushed off her feet- plates, cups, hot water had all run out. There were no tables relaid-guests were scavenging for cutlery from Vacated tables.

The staff were fantastic. Enjoyed the pool

Tired and worn fixtures and fittings. Noisy as very close to a busy A road. All areas were overly warm and lots of the radiators couldn’t be turned off. Very expensive considering the shabby state of the place.

The evening meal needed more variety. Salmon taken off the menu on Sunday we should have been told from Friday evening. Roast chicken ordered. Husband given roast pork. Staff need to write the orders down. We were given a complimentary drink We had a room with interconnected door. We requested to move but told no rooms. X2 nights guest was quiet. But the last night we were woken by a guest using foul language. Ok Decor in the restaurant needs updating. Didn't feel to dress for our evening meal.

The hotel was across the road from Clumber Trust Park Spa facilities were adequate..nice to know there was a child free times. The evening meal was good portion and nicely presented The lady at reception happy to listen to our upsetting last night. Stated that she would address it. Hospitality shown on Monday morning by a mature member of staff (Helen) we think for breakfast was so lovely. She's a credit to the hotel.
