Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe fridge is a little small but we made it work, can't always eat out with costs these days so I buy food in. Some intermittent traffic noise, mainly noticeable when in bed, but not a problem really.
What it says on the tin...a cosy cottage! I've stayed in a couple of other places in Marazion but this was my favourite. It's perfect for 2 people and very cosy after a day out. Cooking facilities and equipment great and nice to have tea and coffee available. Cosy settee and I love that we had space to eat at a table. Upstairs was a lovely huge room and walk in shower. The bed was soooo comfy too! We would love to return!

AustraliaIt was difficult for us to find and our internet cut out as we arrived into Marazion. I would prefer more detailed information re location and parking. It was very difficult without internet, something I wasn’t expecting. A window upstairs wasn’t able to be shut and needs maintenance. Otherwise, lovely.
Very old worldly cottage. Upstairs is a large bedroom and excellent bathroom. Facilities good. Good location with easy access to shops and St Michael’s Mount. Phone contact with manager was very helpful when we were having difficulty finding the cottage.

AustraliaHard to access tiny fridge (ineffective freezer) , weak and patchy wi-fi (but this was indicated in literature), weak and fiddly shower.
Great location, niclely renovated bedroom and bathroom, comfortable bed, easy check-in

United KingdomWe feel that the entrance area will need attention fairly soon to avoid the increasing risk of slip hazard. (Moss growing on the cobbles) We also thought that the cleaning was rather superficial in the kitchen area.
The location and parking was excellent. The sofa and bed were very comfortable. We really liked the traditional style of the cottage and we thought the description given was accurate and fair.

United KingdomLow ceiling by stairs, needs a warning sign as my partner hit his head several times. Carpet in need of a clean. Nice bathroom but low pressure electric shower. Got very damp during our stay in July and we had trouble drying our clothes and towels. Clearer directions would have been helpful, especially given the road sign for the parking is difficult to spot from the road. Very tight parking, wouldn’t recommend for large vehicles. Small quirky old cottage with shabby-chic feel wasn’t to my partner’s taste, so if you prefer modern, spacious interiors this probably isn’t for you.
Lovely mature, tiered garden with seating. Large bedroom with comfy bed and garden view. Dog-friendly with secure garden, although note the gate is low and it opens onto a main road. Short walk to the beach, shops, pubs and restaurants. Great location for a short stay.

United KingdomCouple of silly things that are not worth mentioning I have just emailed owner instead.
Lovely stay and great location in middle of village 4 good places for dinner within walking distance. Close to road but hardly any cars in the night slept peacefully.. After reading some of the other reviews couple of comments. Shower seems to have been sorted, electric and no issues. "Afraid to leave our car in parking space" well love to know where they live if gour scared to leave it next to 6 other cars out of sight from road and surrounded by houses. Attic door well I think someone's been watching too much monster's inc.

United KingdomThe overpowering smell of damp and mould. The sofa was stupidly uncomfortable. Couldn’t keep any heat within the property due to the big gap by the front door. Felt unsafe with the lack of security on the loft hatch baring in mind it was an annex joined to the main house. Parking wasn’t as described, it was out of sight of the property and I didn’t feel safe with leaving my car there

United KingdomCottage was very cold when we arrived, no heating left on for our arrival. Everything felt damp, towels didn't dry unless in front of the log fire. Lots of condensation every morning, couldn't see out of the windows. Front door swollen from damp, very difficult to close. Not enough logs left for even the first evening. Fridge very small.
