Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe Reception and the Restaurant don’t open until 8am, which was a bit too late for our early departure, but the staff offered us a take away breakfast.
Staying in the Castle grounds makes for a very special experience. We arrived quite late in the afternoon, just as the Castle interior was closing to the public, but the staff were very helpful in offering us a short extension to the closing time if we wished to visit. The castle grounds and gardens are fully accessible throughout residents’ stays, and that private access adds to the experience. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Dining in the restaurant was a really good experience, with a view of the castle adding to the magic. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay.

United KingdomBoth the mattresses were a tad hard and also, being short, the beds were a bit high!! The shower opening was very narrow, making it very awkward for us bigger girls.
The room was lovely, the food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful. There were many little touches in the room which were very appreciated, including the staff leaving a birthday message for my sister. Beautiful smell in the room, instant hot water for the bath, very clean throughout. Loved having freedom of movement around the grounds and in fact, we were so impressed overall, we've booked to come back again in August!

United Kingdomwished the castle promoted its Tudor heritage more.
Lovely clean room overlooking gardens/lake. I am pleased we chose to stay on-site and eat at the restaurant—a beautiful view of the castle from here, which looks lovely lit up at night. The food was great at both our evening meal and breakfast. Local Kent toiletries to use in the bathroom. Free access to the castle and grounds included in the overnight price.

IsraelThe breakfast had a good selection, but unfortunately we didn't find it tasty. I can't say the products used were the best, or the same quality as the dinner - this was a huge disappointment, as we had to eat there 3 times... Also, our room in the stable courtyard B&B part of the accommodation was to my taste disappointing - the contrast of living in such a basic modern design in such historical gorgeous surroundings was appalling to me. The only reason I didn't ask to upgrade to the historical parts of the castle is we would probably have the same breakfast, and I was unwilling to pay for it such a high price. Also, I was afraid the design won't be purely tasteful and historical as I wished. The stay includes admission into the park, but there are many things with extra cost: mini golf, really short train ride (that takes you only one way, or you have to pay double), really short boat ride etc - which was a bit disappointing. And finally, I expect people in the reception of the B&B to be informed and have knowledge about activities status (we waited several times to see the falconry show, and in order to learn that it has been cancelled we had to walk quite far and on time, instead of letting people know ahead of time for them to plan the day correctly).
Leeds Castle is a place which is enormous, historical, unbelievably beautiful (especially in the spring), full of activities and attractions for kids and adults. We stayed there for 3 nights and I can't say we had the opportunity to exhaust everything the place has to offer, we were left with a taste for more. The ability to rest in our room in the middle of a day full of activities spread on such a large area, was excellent. Our dinners at the restaurant were great and the restaurant staff was very helpful.

United KingdomWe had full English breakfast, but it was disappointing. The sausage was cooked through but wasn’t browned all over. The mushrooms hadn’t touched the pan at all, appeared raw.

United KingdomIt was my fault I thought a superior double room would have a super king sized bed... it didn't so we slept quite badly! I should have asked if you had availability. We would have had dinner but the only time available was 18.30, a bit too early for us.
We didn't have dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast was lovely, very good service and a good selection of items to choose from. So quiet and such a special place to stay.

United KingdomIt is not cheap, but the location is very special and the views from the restaurant lovely. Great for short stays with sunny weather - not so good in the rain!
Lovely grounds. Garden house is in a nice location and feels private, despite the location of food outlets in the courtyard. Room is small but cosy and nicely furnished. Bathroom could be updated but is clean, functional and almost as large as the room. Access to netflix, amazon prime on the TV was an unexpected bonus. Radiator can be easily adjusted to make it a very warm or cool room. Bed is good and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant went out of the way to accommodate allergies for breakfast and dinner. Castle and grounds access from day of arrival to day of departure (even after checkout) was appreciated and evening access to grounds would be better appreciated in the summer months. Good view from the room over the grounds, excellent view from the restaurant over the castle. Good variety in shops and food outlets.

United KingdomBed and pillows were really hard. The quilt had a zip right down the middle wasn’t comfortable not a double bed two single beds pushed together. Light in the hallway would not turn off so every five minutes throughout the night it was going off. We originally booked a small double room was very happy with our first room. Bed was comfortable if you think about the room was perfect for us however our water supply would not work so we was moved in the night to an upgraded room which was nice and bigger We wanted a double bed not two single bed pushed together with two quilts zipped up made it very uncomfortable the maintenance guy Scott was it extremely helpful breakfast on day one was really nice but day two and three not nice at all staff on day one perfect day two and three apart from one lad the rest of the staff seem like they really couldn’t be bothered. I last day was a buffet breakfast which was cold not cooked very well croissants never hot for the amount you pay your paying your expect better food standard. If your going for the castle then sorry if you’ve been before and going again you’ll be extremely disappointed. They have taken away most of what was originally in there. They’ve laid awful flooring. Most of the pictures have gone. They’re going inside as totally changed cutting out a lot of it. Whoever has made these changes have really ruined the Castle and the atmosphere of the castle extremely disappointed I would not go back to visit Leeds Castle again totally been ruined everything original bit by bit has been taken away and replaced with cheap tat.
Nice big room and bathroom.
