Property poorly maintained. Very old carpets, the entrance signage had dropped off, the reception is dull and all the paint had worn off the counter tops and the outdoor terrace plainly hadn't been cleaned in yonks - cigarette butts and paper in the drainage gutters (and i don't mean just one or two)

Comfortable bed, nice linen, very clean room. Very good meals, friendly staff. Lovely quiet location, very good wifi. Very reasonable price for a good night's sleep.

Hotel has a peculiar policy of needing you to put a flag on the door if you want the room made up. I haven't seen this anywhere else and we weren't informed about this.. When we complained the receptionist was very difficult and just said it was hotel policy.

I feel the rooms are overpriced as they are really dated. The bathrooms are in need of a refurb. Same goes for the spa. The food is so expensive for the quality. I had the beef burger and it tasted like a frozen processed burger. Wasn’t bad but £20 is a bit steep. When booking I opted not to get the £79 room as it said two single beds. So I paid for a room with a double bed at a cost of £99. I was disappointed to find our room was just two single beds pushed together.

Comfy beds. Welcoming reception staff. Good breakfasts - first day by order, second day buffet. Both as good. Two good dinners for a reasonable price. Good clean pool. LOVELY views. 10 minute drive to Dartmouth.

Several hours after eating the evening meal one of the party (the only one to eat this particular dish) was hit with an awful case of food poisoning which meant they were unable to taste/experience the breakfast that had been paid for the following morning and their spa treatments had to be cancelled. This was reported to staff who said they would forward this to management. 36(ish) hours later We called the hotel and made a formal complaint regards the food and the food poisoning. We were assured management would be informed and someone would be in contact.... This was 5 days ago and we have still had no contact from anyone from the hotel.

Dinner was OK. The staff seated us with the most beauiful view and we ordered dinner from the restaurant. The staff especially the Spa staff (a blonde lady in particular) were fantastic and couldn't be more accommodating and advising us on next steps after a case of food poisoning.

Pool and changing areas need to have greater tending to look like cleaned once a day Bathrooms need updating Lot of confusion on rooms with my room being made as 2 singles on arrival, got sorted on the following day, but it was just 2 singles pushed together not a double

The property needs a lot of work and maintenance to bring it up to standard! Leaks in the roof in restaurant/bar/bistro area. General decor needs updating, general cleaning needs alot of improvement

Bad at answering the phone when calling to make requests, specifically the Bistro and Spa. Guests were allowed to talk loudly in the waiting area of the spa ruining the relaxation feeling. Walls are thin so we could hear other people's conversations in neighbouring rooms. Double bed was actually two singles pushed together making it difficult to cuddle and enjoy films together as one of us would disappear down the gap! Additionally the mattress were solid and undid a lot of what the spa did in terms of relaxation. There is no drinks menu online and the food menu is out of date (from 2021). Whilst some meals are the same, alot are not.

The staff were nice and helpful. The spa was great with a great range of treatments on offer! Shower in room had brilliant water pressure and felt good. Room was spotless when we arrived!

Some cobwebs and dust in little used areas of my room. The steak was a bit dried out and tough, the waiter was good but he was processing but not engaging! The food was not really good value compared to many other hotels I have stayed in. Edible, yes but good, no!

Great Shower!! Excellent receptionist she was welcoming and attentive. The bar looked clean and tidy The location was great.

It's be a long time since I slept in a single bed, and at 6'3" and large build I felt the bed was tiny. If these are not normal sized beds then they should be. If they are then I need a diet and you can disregard. My colleague sharing the room is 6'6" and skinny, but also felt that the singles were smaller than normal. Breakfast was included in our rate as I opted to pay the extra, however had I paid the advertised £15.95 on Booking.com I would have been very disappointed, whilst the food was excellent in terms of taste and quality I thought the selection was a little limited and the toaster was not on so toast had to be ordered at the kitchen (which saved us eating too much of course).

Staff were all native english speakers that we engaged with and were excellent. Staff had advised prior to our visit that phone signal was non-existent and also confirmed when we arrived, however in room 106 which is ground floor, we received superb coverage on EE which was helpful as we were on call all night. Wifi if needed was good also. Excellent bathroom clearly refurbed more recently than the rooms.

We booked a suite however, it was only really a suite in name due to the size. It was old fashioned inside and quite tired/tatty. The lounge area was pretty bare…a big TV and 2 fairly old and tired sofas. The bathroom needs updating. We had to ask for the room to be cleaned again as it looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed (at the least). Clearly nobody had moved the sofas as there was ‘debris’ underneath when we repositioned them to more conveniently watch TV, and we found someone else discarded earphones behind a bedside table. We also had to ask for bath robes which should’ve been in the bathroom

We love the location having stayed there before. Didn’t play golf but the having played the course loads of times, it’s great. Good to have a spa on site too.

Breakfast was very nice, good choice. Lovely peaceful area, a few walks would be nice, I understand about not going on the golf course!!

There was a bit of black mould on the netting curtains and in the bathroom. The gym was small and the weight machines had pulleys which I don’t like.

The staff were very helpful - we required a room move due to proximity to the lift and we like a bedsheet and they were happy to help - thank you. The bed was really comfortable and the room spacious - just a bit tired.
