How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bath in our room was slightly chipped so didn't feel comfortable using it, but other than that, great.
This was a great place to stay, centrally located with great facilities. Great value in comparison to other nearby options given the quality of the room.

There was a coffee maker machine and coffee pods, but had a European plug that couldn’t being plugged… luckily I had an adapter and managed to mKe myself a coffee

I didn't like them adding a discretionary service charge when I was paying and hadn't heard anything about it beforehand...you can get it back but it's a nuisance...
Room was lovely and spacious, bed was very comfortable. Very nice modern designed hotel. Easy to get to by train

Would have been better if the breakfast spread had a bit more variety. The safe sometimes worked, sometimes it didn't which was a bit strange.
Room was clean, quiet and adequate. There was an issue with the door handle being loose but it was fixed very quickly. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Bed was comfortable.

Have to say the tepid cooked breakfast offering was very disappointing. Didn’t bother to have in second morning as food was cold.

The room did not get freshened up while we were out, despite having the "please come in" sign on the door. The hotel also adds a "service charge" when you pay, which you have to ask to be removed if you wish.
Great value for money compared to other hotels in London. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Staff were helpful and polite.

We booked a double room but were given a twin. When I asked to be moved I was told that no other rooms were available. To their credit they quickly pushed the beds together and made a double but this meant one side of the bed didn't have a headboard. I would have expected a double if that is what I booked. I didn't like a service charge being added. This should have been made clear when booking on booking.com. The receptionist did mention something like a service charge but it wasn't explained very well. It seems like a hidden charge.
Very modern. Very clean. Good facilities. Good location. Nice cocktails in the bar.

Breakfast was awful it was worse than McDonald’s on a busy Saturday not enough staff not clean got enough cutlery glass dishes plates tables full of dirty crockery no food left it is too embarrassing to carry on as I may come across as rude However you really need to up your game on this area Unfortunately we would have had a lovely time as anything else was very good as it was very convenient to where we were going

We booked two deluxe rooms but felt that they were pretty different in standard. We had rooms 209 and 232 (I think). 232 was a lot larger and had a separate shower and bath section whereas 209 did not for the same price.
The location was superb, the room was comfortable, of a high standard of cleanliness and the staff were really friendly/helpful.

The pressure in the shower wasn't great in the morning, it took a while to get the temperature right but these seemed to lose some of the pressure. The cooked food on offer at breakfast was a little disappointing; it wasn't the hottest buffet food we've had which meant it didn't stay warm on the plate for too long.
Room was very spacious and I loved that there were proper glasses on the hospitality tray. Bed was comfy which ensured a great nights sleep! The cold food option and bread selection at breakfast was good. We were able to leave our case in a secure room while we shopped.

The bath plug in my hotel room didn't work and the breakfast was cold.
The interior of the hotel was lovely, and so were the staff.
