Room service food wasn't very good and the entrance from the car park was really awkward.

Allowed us to bring all our dogs and stay in one twin room.

All very good. A bit disappointed that I was charged to keep the car in the carpark. Other places it’s considered part of the deal. Back of the hotel is a building site.

    Staff where fantastic.

The hotel is beautiful but needs modernising, the lift is from the 60s I felt like we were in the shining.

Pillows were uncomfortable. Could hear rooms above either showering or flushing the loo and the water noise was loud. Bathroom was tired

Where it was. Beautiful frontage. Staff were lovely, shame they charge £7.50 for the carpark.

Not looking its best from the back with scaffolding. Hidden extras not explained at checkin and parking limited which is not picked up in description. Breakfast is not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Cheaper and better at local pub.

Great character and friendly staff. Lovely clean and warm room.

The room was very cold but with old style windows and no double glazing, this shouldn't be a surprise. We asked for additional blankets and these were provided.

Love the hotel, love the staff. We Visit Plymouth regularly and this is easily our favourite hotel. Great value and a lovely old style hotel with lots of character.

always issues with taps drainage etc but it’s very reasonably priced so you get what you pay for. However I am discussed that last year the cost of parking was £5/night this year they are now charging £7.50/night will I continue to stay here yes probably but a 50% increase in parking charges is outrageous

    location and a beautiful hotel.

Due to its age and period it lacked a few things. I was on the third floor & the wi-fi only worked if I was on the ground floor. The carpark is small and first come first served which is fair enough however I don't agree with being charged per night as a resident if you manage to find a space and the car park belongs to the hotel

It's got a grand feel, presence and history... Beautiful inside & could have stayed there for weeks, it was lovely and warm everywhere in the hotel. Staff were accommodating and pleasant along with the maids

I had not been aware there was a £5 per night charge for usung the car park, but it was far cheaper than parking on the local roads.

I had a single room which was warm, comfortable and quiet. Cooked breakfast was served on hot plates, and the service was prompt. Staff were polite and efficient. It was an excellent loction, being 5 minutes walk to the city centre.

I loved the decor, room size and the friendly staff. There was car parking, street and car park - somewhat expensive though. The breakfast was great (the server did a fantastic job all by himself). I understand that not everyone wants us to bring our dog into the restaurant but not being allowed to do that felt incongruous with the fact that the place was otherwise very dog friendly. Thank you for having us x

Rattly old single pane windows were cold and noisy but a small price to maintain the hotels originality. Could invest in some secondary windows though to maintain the heat!

Quaint! Like going back in time to opulence for a very reasonable price! Rain shower and large rooms!

Sadly it was rather shabby. Felt like it had obviously seen much better days, but we probably wouldn’t have been able to afford to stay there in its hay day!
