How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The bed frames were being changed out. All the old one's were piled up in the car park outside the main entrance. Maybe a bit more care could have been taken with that.
Very convenient location. Breakfast was decent enough.

The room was beginning to show early signs of wear: thermostat on shower was kaput and there had been some hasty mastic-ing on the cubicle.
Nice location next to the canal and a popular pub. Very handy for Hemel Hempstead. Friendly and helpful staff. Very close to Apsley rail station.

Fab hotel, across the road from the station with trains direct to Euston so perfectly placed to get into London. Everything clean, friendly staff and a great place to stay.

The room was a bit too warm. We tried turning the temperature down, but it didn't work. We always find duvets too hot, so had requested an extra sheet and a blanket. The message we had back said that the hotel could do this, but there was a duvet on the bed, and when we asked, they were more than happy to give us an extra sheet, but didn't have any blankets.
The friendly staff. The cheerful decor. the good complementary breakfast.

The noise coming into the room throughout the night. Our room was at the top of the stairs so everyone that came to the floor passed the room and you can hear everyone talking. The room had an adjoining door to the next room and this door had no soundproofing. The people staying in the room were still talking at 3:00am and so loud. Not a good night sleep at all. The bathroom was not very good and dated but okay for one night
Great breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Nice hotel, busy and had all you need for a short break or one night stay Close to town so quick 15 minute walk got to some local shops

The parking can be a nightmare at times due to a lot of the spaces taken with work vans. We were charged over £249 for a 2 night stay (mon - wed) where as my son and daughter were charged £167 for a 2 night stay (fri - sun) ??

Noise of traffic which is not hotel's fault, room had extra sliding windows to prevent noise, which was great until you opened windows which we had to because very warm in room, needs air con, traffic became light around 1/2am, room number 524, I would book again but on the other side of building

Great location for visiting Warner bros studio tour with our family. As we were traveling with bikes on the back of our car, we asked the staff if it was possible to keep the bikes in a safe location in the hotel and they were more than happy to oblige, even helping us to retrieve them early in the morning on our depart. Rooms were clean and comfy and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good too, great value for for money when included in the price of the room. This was the 3rd time we stayed at this hotel and we would definitely stay again.

In the morning ground floor door leading towards car park were locked and exit button didn’t work. There was no receptionist available at that time. Lift did not work and I had to use staircase with all suitcases to go upstairs to use other doors.
Good size, clean, comfortable room. Basic but nice. Very convenient location to airport car park.
